Featured Replies

Anyone managed to sucessfully do this?

I am having a right nightmare. I have got IIS up and running, PhP seems to be workin, MySQL installed fine an seems to be set up right, but I cant for the life of me get PhP & MySql to get along and work with each other.

If somebody could help me with this i would appreciate it loads.

If you need any info from me just ask and i will post whatever is needed.

Cheers

Which version of PHP are you using? PHP 5.x?

Which version of MySQL are you using?

What error messages are you getting to confirm that PHP and MySQL aren't talking to each other?

If you don't need IIS in particular save yourself the headache and give xampp or wamp a try.

I use WAMP on Vista (32-bit) and it works fine for me.

PHP Version 5.2.8

mysql-5.1.37-winx64

The error message is thrown up when tryin to install phpMyAdmin

All it says is...

Cannot load mysql extension. Please check your PHP configuration. - Documentation

My blog post might help?

Installing Wordpress locally with Xampp

Make sure you've set up your mysql database(s)

What operating system are you on?

I'm running Vista 64

As far as i know I have set up IIS, php & MySQL correctly (following all instructions on the MySQL site), the problem so far is setting up php my admin. It just keeps throwing up the error message mentioned in my previous post...

'Cannot load mysql extension. Please check your PHP configuration. - Documentation'

I am willing to give XAMP a try, but I'm not sure that just installing that is going to fix the problem I am having as it seems to be more with the php & MySQL setup.

However, its not working for me, so i am pretty much open to trying everything (other than format & reinstall, lol)

*** EDIT ***

Take that back, Just taken a look at XAMPP and its an all in one package so I am actually goin to give it a go in a moment.

Can anyone help me with the best way to uninstall PhP & MySQL so that it doesnt conflict with XAMPP??
