Hi... I am a newbie here and also beginner for adobe photoshop and illustrator. As my research, if we want to create new graphic design I better choose Illustrator but if I want to manipulate image, just use Photoshop.

My question is what is the best tool to create real banner or bunting with size 10ft x 4ft, and how to do that? I want to design in and print it at advertisement shop.

Thank you.

I personally use Photoshop for pretty much everything, I gave Illustrator a try but all the time using it I just kept feeling the need to go back to Photoshop. I have been using Photoshop for many years though so I suppose I will naturally always have a preference to it as it is what I am familiar with.

Your best bet would be to head over to the Adobe site and grab the trials and see which you find easier to work with :)

Edit: Just realised how big of a canvas you said you are working with, I would recommend Illustrator due to the size as Illustrator is a vector based program, so you can scale things to larger sizes or smaller without worrying about distortion, however once you have finished your outline design I would recommend using Photoshop to add your colour and any visual effects.

Illustrator would be best for what you want to do...... I use it for almost everything now (I only using photoshop if images are involved, and for saving for web :)
