Client wants banner ads on his site - any recommendations?

Featured Replies

Hi there, client has a popular website and wants to put some banners on the top of the site that he can sell to local clients. Space is a 550 x 110 pixel top banner placement.

They may want to sell this space to more than one client, so it would need to randomly/evenly display each companies ad and also record stats etc, click-thrus etc.

Any advice on a website that offers this facility at all?

BuySellAds.com is a good one. Not sure on their banner sizes, but I assume you can choose anything you like.

BuySellAds is good, but you're unlikely to be accepted into the program if it isn't part of the web design trade, unfortunately (and correct me if I'm wrong), they rarely accept anything outside the IT sector...

Traxor's right, they have said they may open it up more, but i wouldn't hold your breath.

Although you did say LOCAL so perhaps look for some sort of ad management script online, which you're client can use to manage the advertisers online.

Hotscripts will probably have a few atleast..

Might be worth looking at OIO Publisher (http://www.oiopublisher.com) which can be used to sell and serve ads on any site - you set up the ad spaces available, size, cost etc.. and potential advertisers can buy online without leaving the site.

It isn't free but certainly sounds ideal for what you're looking for.
