June 29, 200917 yr Basically, a webdesign company outsourced some work to me, basically its the updating of a website. The only problem i have is the way that the sent the information to me. If you look at the attached file below, he sent me about 10 emails. There was no information in the emails just attached files. I did talk to the guy and i understood what they where looking to do. I then noticed that not all the information was provided for certain sections of the website. I asked the guy about this and he said all the information was there, and for the pages that had no documents for the updates he just told me to use my imagination :S Has anyone got a set way for how they would like updates sent to them???
June 29, 200917 yr I'm not really sure where the problem is - he's forwarded emails to you with the info and told you to make up the rest. That's quite normal. You will find everybody does it their own way - some will do as your chap above, some might send everything in Word docs (which will need to be un-Worded before pasting into a web document), some might paste a load of separate things into an email. Some might send you scans of their notes. Some will be nicely written and clear what they want, some will write a load of absolute gibberish that they will have trouble translating if you ask them to clarify what they said so you will need to use your imagination and then be prepared to be told it's all wrong. Unless you explicitly say 'I want it this way' you will get everyone sending things differently. But if you do, it might make it harder for them to send you updates and they won't like that.
