July 1, 200917 yr Interesting thought, though there may be a few pitfalls 1. It's image only, unlike variations of Lightbox (ie Thickbox) which can handle any content type in "lightbox" fashion. 2. It still relies on Javascript, otherwise you'd have to use an A tag to call the link, therefore making the attribute extraneous 3. A HTML tag must fully work without the need for external scripting, ie javascript, you can't simply ignore a HTML attribute based on whether JS is present
July 2, 200917 yr plus it's hard enough to get browser manufacturers to adhere to a common standard for any of the "web" languages - so I imagine there would be a lot of pain in the *ss code forking to implement the feature anyway.
