the footer is actually suppost to look like the pc image, but it doesnt on a mac.

now why does the mac one look slightly bolder, i dont know if it just the text that i am using, but shouldnt it be displayed the same on both, i don't have probelms with it on other sites like youtube and google ect, just sites that i make, be great if someone could tell me the solution.

It used to be the same with Safari on a Mac and on Windows (bolder on Windows) but I think the latest version of Safari is better.

There's not a lot you can do, although in theory you could use a javascript sniffer to find out which OS is being used and send a different stylesheet with a different font-weight.

sometimes text also looks really thin aswell, is it the same thing, just general differences?

here are some text from the same page on the same website.

pc text

i would prefer it to be like the pc version, the mac version makes the text look really thin, sometimes letters look really thin, like it is only 1 line of pixels.

different systems, slight differences in the same-font rendering and of course antialiasing/cleartype is different on systems. learn to live with it :)

you could try a different font that lives more happily on each OS

Give up trying to make your sites render identically on every platform. Have you checked what your site looks like in Opera for Linux? If you don't build flexibility in, it will break on something. Windows isn't mac, and mac isn't linux. Don't try and make it so...
