June 25, 200917 yr Hello again, I have now finished all my exams and have plenty of time to get my website as perfect as I can. The only thing I need is the help from this fantastic forum. I would really like it if people were to tell me everything they hate about my website and things that are good and what they would do to improve it. My website is mainly aimed at virtual cars and I want the website to scream this out in a cool stylish way. Something that makes car enthusiastic people want to stay on the site. Although I wouldn't want to re design the whole website again, as I have done this to many times and I want to keep adding content all of the time now, but am happy to play around with the design that I have, unless you people think its total rubbish.. My website is www.justbloomit.com Here is an attachment of my latest work, not much different really but o well, Thank you so much.
June 25, 200917 yr I completely agree with getting rid of that flashing image, I ended up hiding it with firebug so I could use the site! I like your logo, good use of the car. But I think the overall design is a bit too bold/purple for my liking. More personal choice than anything else. I'd also get rid of the fading in text in the top right. Things like this and the flashing image attract the users eye, and takes the focus away from your content - which isn't a good thing! I really like some of the cars, the Audi and Suburu look sick! You even managed to make a C4 look attractive
June 25, 200917 yr Hi Matt, Some excellent content there. The site could look really slick with a few minor mods Here are my suggestions for improving your site. First - check out some tutorials on 'dark sites' as I think this would work well for you. Bit too much purple - try some grads with it perhaps? Too much drop shadow on the nav headings. A sleeker, less chunky nav bar would be good. I'd have one example of your work on the homepage, along with your introduction text. Personally I don't like lots of repeated content in a site. Move the google ads to the right hand side , and keep it below the line of your header. Remove the flashing thingy-whatsit The gallery doesn't have a full nav bar like the rest of the site. The white text boxes could do with some 'treatment' and a cool font sourced to go with the style oft the site. Cheers
June 25, 200917 yr Maybe center it, just looks out of place to me, being off the to left and all, if you had it in the center you could add some detail to the background instead of having a constant color, and i would have stuck to greys and blacks, rather than purple, purple to me just seems a bit random, something more neutral may work better. also on your contact page you may want to introduce a email form, so people dont have to manually send the email. You may also want to update you AVG

I am using layers in dreamweaver and dont know how to center it lol because of the layers are absolute positioned I think. BTW: What makes you think my AVG is out of date? lol
June 25, 200917 yr Ahhh, no offence at all mate but that is one of the worst coded sites I've ever seen! It's not really your fault as I assume you did this in dreamweaver design view, but it's a good testament how dreamweaver screws things up! Was just having a play with the code to try and center it, but I don't think you've got much chance without a complete re-code. Sorry
June 25, 200917 yr Author lol, no offence taken. O well it will just have to stay on the left haha. I should really learn how to code css with notepad, but that will take a long time
June 25, 200917 yr Haha. It might take a little while, but it's well worth it! If you got some free time, reckon you could try 'modding' an astra mk4? Would love to see what mine would look like

June 26, 200917 yr Certainly improving. Try to keep the space between the borders the same on each side. And between boxes within the page - or they should be 1/2 the width (need a mathematical relationship between nearly all spaces on the page) Tweek the line up of the boxes on the left hand side. I\'d rejig your logo so that your name is in the top left and push the car graphic to the right. Have a reasonable amount of black between the two. Possibly a bit of carbon fibre affect in there would be in keeping with modded cars - but only a bit. Bit too much white drop shadow on the header and the nav could still be thinner and lined up with the left hand side. Can\'t help with the coding I\'m afraid only the layout. Here you go. Had a rough play for you to show most of the above.

I am also adding a gradient, from black to silvery white. Thanks for feedback big help.

Thanks for feedback big help. few suggestion: try to move the site in the center of the page; move the search box into the black (better in the right side); try to have your header ending up to the ads (or move the ads inside) all this is in order to have a more "easy to catch" design. Now: try effects in the pics (border/shadow/etc); try taking oout the white line at the top of the tab/buttons in the top menu: you may have a dradiant effect in the whole height of the button, from a darker violet (not balck) to the actual one. move the title away from the border of the header: try to center it. Try to align all the content toghether. See the attached image (my english is not so good)
June 26, 200917 yr Author No problem - can I have that as a testimonial on my site when it's done Hey, yeh course you can, send me a link so I can view it though when its done

June 26, 200917 yr I agree with fsdfds, other than moving bloominit.com - keep it top left of the banner
June 26, 200917 yr Author Here is the latest so far, using all of everyone's feedback. I cant decide about the text in the banner, but ill probs worry bout that later on. Also the ads are there, just my firewall blocking them atm.
June 26, 200917 yr Author Yeh, I gunna have a play around with the colours, but I think I might stick with the purple lol. I have now also added shadows to the pics as suggested by fsdfds.
June 26, 200917 yr why is your content to the left and your banner ect to the right? what the hell is a budykit? bodykit?
