Hey everyone,

I'm re-designing a lyric site, but have come up against a brick wall with the background. I'm not really sure what else to do with the hills at the bottom. I'm also a bit unsure of the title colour. Anyone have any ideas/pointers?

Thanks :)

Naturally music notes would be a good start. Comments on this one please :)

I think they need changing colour to something much lighter & need to have more of a gradient. I think the gradient shouldnt be perfectly vertical either.

I would separate each of the individual hills as the front row doesnt look to great in my opinion.

Just my opinion.... Not sure how it will turn out, but best of luck - I like what you've got so far.

I don't know...I actually like the colors. they comforting, an the notes on footer looks nice:)

Thanks for the comments guys.

I did agree that it needed slightly softer colours in the footer, it felt a bit too much of a contrast. I've made it less bright and have changed the gradients on the different hills to reflect the distance.

Let me know what you think.

the music notes looks good, but its missing something, from the hills, something hmmm i really dunno.

myabe you could have a tree, going up the side of your site, kinda overlaying the content area on the right, then on the tree instead of having leafs you could have music notes, just an idea i think might work.

Thanks mate.

I actually made these changes before I read your post, but I guess we're on similiar(ish) lines ;)

Decided against that hard green and went for a much softer one. Also added some small trees for scenery, played around with the logo a bit and added some (very) slight shading to the hills. It feels a lot more finished now to me. What does everyone think?

I like the new footer area, much nicer. But, the top all feels a bit too light for me. Is there somewhere to introduce a touch of the green in the upper part maybe?

It feels very soft and fluffy - not a bad thing. Perhaps a little too white/light for me. A spot of bolder colour here and there might make some elements stand out - which at the moment is the blue in the google ads.

Thanks. I did try a bit of green in the search bar but it felt out of place. I might try darkening the blue gradient at the top to bring the foreground out a bit more.

The hills need more trees...it's all about reforestation effort !!

few remarks only:

the greeen color is not good. you need something more "alive", try calculating a set of colors starting by the darker blue of the title. The title it self is ok.

I suggest 2 more thinks: try a gradient effect (or inner shadow) at the bottom hills.

and finally: try to have a darker color for your text. The page is not easy to read.

you may also find some design online to see their solutions:

Haha that made me smile ;)

few remarks only:

Not sure if you saw the version a couple of posts up? Seems like you're referring to the first post (which looks horrible now I see it now, dunno what I was thinking with that green!)
