October 22, 200718 yr Hello everyone im new to the forum. Ive come here to see if anyone could give me a little bit of guidance, iam currently out of work for around a year or so, so iam keen to learn something in that time. I have got hold of some good software, training and books to start studying the titled programme, currently iam trying to find my feet with class room in a book from adobe and reading over Dreamweaver CS3 Bible before i go to sleep. I am then in a week or so going to start a training programme called total training for dreamweaver CS3 by jannine warner. There are many learning curves i need to go through and it will be a slow progress thing specialy as i am learning myself and not going through a training provider but going of this info would anyone be able to comment on any different steps i should take or any advise at tall i could take on board. Many thanks, Jimmi
October 23, 200718 yr Hello Dreamweaver is alot easier to use when you understand HTML. Im using Sams Teach Yourself HTML and CSS in 24 hours by Micheal Morrison. There are a lot of HTML tutorials on the net. Dreamweaver is very helpful tool when you are learning to code - it provides code hints and code checking. Its best to use it in code view and check your pages in different browsers. Mozilla Firefox is a good browser to test in and it has useful plugins. Good luck Rob
October 24, 200718 yr Author Hi Roberto, thanks for your reply, I have just had a look at that book you said is it anygood? I might give it a try myself.
October 25, 200718 yr Hi Its a good book, taking you from really simple html to css in easy steps. The Michael Morrison forum is not working at the moment, it hasn't been for a while, if it comes back its a friendly place to discuss html/css. He was trying to live for the year with out spending anything, getting by on trading goods and services - obviously his website host wanted more than 3 bags of potatoes and old hockey stick to keep his site up. You can find information about the book at http://www.informit.com/store/product.aspx?isbn=0672328410. A good website for html is : http://www.w3.org/html/ and for css : http://www.w3.org/Style/CSS/ with a good css reference: http://xhtml.com/en/css/reference/ Rob
