Logo with shadow

Featured Replies

I have a logo with a shadow on it and when I put it on my site it has a white underlay. how to I make the shadow simply be a shadow and just lay on whatever is under it?

Thanks,

Matthew

Try exporting the image as a 32-bit alpha-channel (transparent) png (or for single alpha-channel export it as a transparent gif). What app are you using and on what OS?

I am using Adobe Illustrator and my OS is XP. I test my page using Firefox.

Another question on the same basic topic.

How do I overlap images? For example if i have a image preview box and it changes pictures every 5 seconds, and one of the pictures is a guy holding a sword straight in the air, how do I make is so the sword doesn't get cut off at the edge of the box and continues through?

in illustrator open the file that contains your logo and open the 'export' menu. Choose 'png' as the file type and in the dailogue box that follows, choose 'screen' for 'resolution' and 'transparent' for 'color'. Click 'ok'.

So i tried this out and it still pushes the other images away from it and has a white box around it.

Are you trying to create a site by exporting straight from AI with slices? Maybe seeing the site we could help.

If you're following the instructions correctly then the white box must be part of the design in the illustrator file. This could also explain why it appears to be pushing the other images away.

Do you have a link to the site so we can see?

The site I am working on isn't currently online. I got ride of the white box but the image still pushes other images out of the way. Another way of asking this question now would be, how do I position images where I want them, like on top of each other?
