Up until now I've always focused on my coding but now I'm at a stage where I need to get involved in the graphical aspect myself rather than seek help else where. So can someone tell me why the bellow is happening and how to resolve it so that I may learn and better myself?

 

I've been designing a "wavy box" in Fireworks via the subselection and pen tools - when I do however the box becomes noticably pixelated on the curved edges but worse still any text I have in the box or add into it after also ends up pixelated and of lesser qualtiy. Why is this and how can I solve it?

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this happening when you export the file or as you are creating it? Fireworks gives you the option to select edges for boarders. Maybe try playing around with it. Also you have the option to add feathered, smooth, or hard edges.

 

I think it will be a little better if you showed a screen cap of what's happening.
