Hey everyone!

 

Why am I suddenly getting this error message when some people check a site in the truly annoying IE...

 

It says:

 

"Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site

http://www.timsutton.tv/test

 

Operation aborted"

 

As you can see from test... it's not the final release but my client has noticed this error in IE. I'm gonna have a search around this morning when I get some time but I figured I'd put it up on here in case anyone knew a quick fix.

 

The video gallery was a flash one that I bought from flashden and then spent some time tweaking to get it to the client's spec. It's also using cushy as a simple CMS for him to update the recent work section.

 

Oh -take a look at Failsafe - "Hope" in the video player if you get chance... my brother directed that video for my friend's band and I'm sat [looking depressed and tired] on the front row, haha

I thought that error normally came up in IE if the host has a DNS problem (or you can't connect to the Internet)?

This is an element reading fault in IE6

Parts of the ITV website were suffering from this a few months ago

haha yeah that's more like it! You'd think IE would get slightly better each time but it seems to be getting worse!

 

I reckon I can sort this problem out this afternoon using swfobject2 so I can take the script out of the body and just reference it -this seems like a typical solution...

Thanks for the replies guys, I managed to sort this last night. The problem was that I had two scripts running within the body tag (one for the 'read more...' toggle and one for the flash). I moved the toggle one out no problem and found a script (swfobject2) that sits out of the body but still displays the flash in the correct div by being referenced by it's id -whew, sorted
