very true!

i mite have to re think the best way of doin this

Any suggestions anyone??

Barcodes are a tricky one. The problem is that everyones printers are different. Not all are fancy lazer ones. Especially old clapped out ones *Looks across the room at the old Epson buzzing in the corner*.

The problem is if everyone prints out different barcodes, there is an issue, what happens if their printer makes a cock-up (especially uncleaned ink jets) and causes an unclear or invalid barcode, that the barcode scanner at the other end can't or won't read/recognise? I'm sure the hippie minions won't be too pleased if they've paid for something and your system says it's invalid! They'll stage a protest, riot, or even sit on the Tarmac at Heathrow! Who knows... Also, they may also complain about how useless technology is and that they should never of invested trust in it and it's probably best to go back to walking naked in fields! :D Anyway, I digress, Of course you could print the number below it so thats not really an issue, but then you have the issue of setting up your online system, so it prints barcodes that the barcode scanner/system at the other end will recognise.

An alternative would be a unique access code via email or SMS

The customer can then either print or write the email verification code

The printed email can also have a JPG image with a barcode which the client can then scan on their EPOS / HHT

Where the customer has received it by SMS the client can then enter the code manually to approve
