April 20, 200917 yr Does anybody know of software to allow me to display inline content in a similar way to lightbox, it'd be nice to be able to use lightbox but the functionality isn't there. The reason I don't want it on a seperate page is because the creation of new pages would mean a lot of extra work when there is very little content to put on each seperate page, which feels like a waste of a page, and tarnishes the aesthetic of the website quite a bit. To reduce file size it'd be helpful if the software can 'call' the inline content from a seperate file, a .htm or .txt file would be fine, but the content would need to be styled the same as the website. I've tried to use thickbox, but it doesn't seem to want to work for me, I've also tried LightWindow, but it was far too much clutter for my liking. If you haven't noticed, I am purely a designer, when it comes to development it does my head in.
April 20, 200917 yr Are you asking how to embed content on the same page? If so, you can use the <OBJECT> tag.
April 20, 200917 yr http://www.shadowbox-js.com/ might be a good thing for you to use if you want something similar to the lightbox style, but it has a whole load of other features to it, such as inline content, flash, movies..and can also call external files like html
April 20, 200917 yr FloatBox is another one that will do what you want: http://randomous.com/floatbox/home Now only free for personal sites, otherwise $20 for single site commercial license - worth it IMHO.
