I have a website which is hosted on a domain www.industry1.com for example. I also have 3 other domains related to that industry, ie www.industry1a.com www.industry1b.com etc. I was wondering if there was any safe, legal, non-frowned upon way of using the 3 other domains to help traffic and SEO for the primary website?

If it was me I would put three different website on all of them, and promote all of them with SEO.

 

Depending on your niche you could get the top 3 spots or alternatively put blogs on the other two and update them daily add links and promote just one website.
