March 5, 200917 yr *title should say strangest I am busy building a site and have th weirdest problem I have ever had, I'm not looking for help with this I just thought I would share. I have a background image with curved corners now to make it so they all align I made the top bit, then flipped it for the bottom bit and then too a 1px high strip for the expanding middle...now you would think that this would mean that all the strips were the same width as they are the same image, however on viewing this box in ie6 the top and bottom images are now smaller than the middle one So it got me wondering as IE6 is known for being the best browser for web designers, what is the oddest thing that has happened to you while checking a site in it?
March 5, 200917 yr Those kind of misalignments are common in chrome, it's one thing i've noticed. The image still holds the correct dimensions right? you've not fliped an 8x9 image to be 9x8 have you? jw I avoid IE6 at all costs, screw them.
March 21, 200917 yr stop using IE, if it really hard stop using IE6.. i dont know why some client insist to make the website look good in IE6, i often reject the condition.

Maybe it is because it is my job to make sites work on all major browsers. I may not like doing it and sometimes end up pulling my hair out but like with most jobs there will be things that you like and things that you hate... IE6 is definitely a thing to hate IE6 for the most part isn't that hard providing you know its quirks you can easily prevent things from going wrong, I guess its just practice to find out what works and what doesn't.
March 21, 200917 yr I've got an IE6 problem with an image just refusing to show up..... It shows up in all others browsers though..

March 31, 200917 yr IE6 is a pain in the @ss, but anywhere between 10 and 30% of people still brows using IE6. So if you make a commercial site you can't have the design fail in IE6. With my personal blog IE6 made a complete mess of the layout in stead of finding out what exactly was causing the mess I just made a really basic design which is only seen by IE6 using a monospaced font, no images and only black and white, just to mirror IE6's limited possibilities. http://millar.nl/bla/fx.png http://millar.nl/bla/IE6.png
March 31, 200917 yr OK not come acrros this but check to make sure you did not add padding is the left side matching up or underlining and the right overlining ? The most strange one i came across is that i uploaded a new file over a old image same name except exstention jpg to png But on my work company's i.e6 browser it showed up the jpg even though the source file coding was correct and showed it to load the png file.
