March 4, 200917 yr WebAndPeople Here it is. Mostly I would love to know your opinion about website navigation and info presentation. Does it show what it is all about from the first look? Thanks! Is the girl your friend. She isn't the kind of image I would use on such a slick site; you need a sexy reserved look. The technologies didn't make any sense to me; a little more explanation needed.
March 5, 200917 yr It took a while to load which im not used to on a 20mb connection. I like the style and the idea your going for however I don't know where to look. My eyes are drawn to the "Are you looking for" section but then i get lost. I find myself clicking your development links below thinking they are the main navigation since they are more prominent than your small navigation at the top. Perhaps you main nav could be larger or stand out more? Not sure about the big banner image. I was going to say perhaps you should change it on each page then I noticed you have. It's a very small change I only noticed becuase i studied it in detail. Looking great though!
March 5, 200917 yr looks tidy - but an over - reliance on stock photography makes the site look quite generic IMO, a bit like a 1&1 of webdesign. Still, it's quite tidy, just looks very old school/eighties.
March 5, 200917 yr It looks like a low-cost template to be brutally honest. Maybe because of the girl. Other things: your letter kerning is out of whack on some of the headings - makes things look very uneven, like you squished the text to fit a fixed button size. And I don't understand the tag cloud. If you want non-webbies and non-bloggers to use a tag cloud, you're going to have to tell people what it is and how to use it. Also, you've broken the tag cloud model. The size of each tag is supposed to represent the number of entries or posts relating to that tag. I don't think a tag cloud is appropriate in this context. Just like (for example) submitting a form when someone clicks a radio button - it breaks the common understanding and puts up barriers to usability. I quite like your drop-down menu at the top though - smart and functional.
March 5, 200917 yr I think it's a very nice website. But it just look like generated from some template.
March 5, 200917 yr I have to agree with ppl on the generic look and feel of the website. would try to get rid of the girl. Another thing that botherd me about the website is the zillion buttons on the home page You have a top menu, center menu, looking for buttons, quote buttons, a cloud thingy and your portfolio. Its a bit much for 1 page especially on the home page where you only want to deliver 1 message.
March 5, 200917 yr Its a bit much for 1 page especially on the home page where you only want to deliver 1 message. I think that's the main thing for me - too much trying to get everything in on one page makes it harder to grab a visitor's attention and draw them in where you want to go. Not only should the girl be disappeared, but coming up with some stronger message and, dare I say it, some leading copy would help shake that generic template feeling and pay dividends in reducing bounce rates. And you never know - a strong headline might just lead to a more interesting graphic with which to replace the ubiquitous smiling professional of political correct category 4.
March 5, 200917 yr yeh it look cool nice one keep up the good work works well loads quickly with my 8 mb broadband coolness
March 14, 200917 yr Author Thanks for replies! I have removed a girl from the header and it is really looks different.
March 15, 200917 yr A very clever site, you are obviously professional and design to the standard I would expect if I was paying you. But is essencial or essential the correct word. I did like the window but think maybe your hourly rate should be higher and include tax. Only trivial criticism and by far the best commercial site I've seen so far.
