The site you have requested does not exist on this server

Featured Replies

When going to my website i purchased 2 days ago, it comes up with this... "The site you have requested does not exist on this server", when i googled the error, i found nothing. I host with fasthosts. Its on a windows server. Any idea why it comes up despite adding an index page?

Maybe your not pointing the domain to the correct place?

In mine i've got a

www/ folder

and then for each of my sites i have a folder so it looks like this

www/

site1/

site2/

site3/

etc, in the control panel i have to assign the domain to the correct folder, otherwise i get a similar error like that, but this is on a linux server, so windows could be (most probably is) different.

I would suggest you start by asking Fasthost's, thats what their support is for!

I have asked 5 times but only since an hour ago from now, that they did something about it, they moved my site back to static server and then later moving back to a scripting server, but im still getting a "Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)" But my domain name has all the name servers in the right place so its definatly there end.

Jesus, sounds like its turning into a right fiasco.

If you want some decent hosting without any of this hassle, then maybe its time to go elsewhere if your not getting any joy from fasthost's. We would sure love to help you out if you would like to give us a shot?

The error basically means that the IP address your A Record points to has no entry in it's VirtualHost configuration for your domain, They have either got your DNS entry wrong or not provisioned your site correctly on that server.

It's one for FastHosts support to fix or for you to move providers :)
