hi there,

after vista blew up, Iv'e been using linux for some months, however I miss photoshop and now wish to move back, iv'e downloaded vista service pack 1, how do I know which version to upgrade to? (I have my reg key but can't remember which version of vista it was for).

Thanks for any help

Was it installed on your computer when you bought it? If so, look on the sticker either on the bottom of your laptop, or check out the specification for your pc as new. Chances are it's vista home premium - seems to be what ships with most new vista machines these days.

Doesn't the serial number determine the version of Vista which is installed? Have you tried just entering what you have into the registration of your current installation?

found out it's home premium but the code won't work (now found out that I need the "OEM" version of home premium, how complicated do they want to make it?)

downloading a copy from rapidshare, will try my prod key on the bottom of the laptop, if that doesn't work I might go back to linux.

(got photoshop on my work pc now)

update:

downloaded the vista home premium ("OEM version") and my key still does not work!

update:

acer say I have to pay them £50 for a recovery disc! makes me angry (in my opinion a recovery dis should come with the laptop!)
