February 23, 200917 yr Hi everyone, I have recently launched my new website atuno.co.uk It is a self-listing website broker site. I am currently in the middle of SEO practices and have several PPC (Google and Yahoo) ads running. Does anybody have any other ideas on what I should be doing to better the site and make it appeal to possible members? Thanks
February 23, 200917 yr Post your link in the Website Reviews section of this forum for critique. With regards to SEO and marketing you need to undertake a massive keyword research and SEO campaign. Be prepared to wait 18 months before you start to see any results from your efforts. If you don't know a lot about SEO I suggest you either start learning or have a professional do it for you.

Yeah i'm doing all the SEO & PPC work myself. I'm pretty good with it. So I know exactly how long and what it takes, but i'm looking for something to boost things now. Rather than waiting, even though i know it's worth it.
February 23, 200917 yr Well, unless you plan on using Black Hat SEO techniques and getting banned from Google you'll have to wait as you are a new website. Even building masses of backlinks really quickly will eventually do a lot of damage to your ranking and possibly get you band. Your only option is PPC and that can be very expensive if you don't know what you're doing, not to mention the fact that only around 35% of searchers click sponsored ads. Do things the natural and ethical way, it will pay dividends in the end. Trust me.

I dont plan on any Black Hat solutions either my own ways will pay off. Whats 'the natural and ethical way'? As this was what I wanted to know in the first place, rather than you tell me something I already know.
February 23, 200917 yr Sorry. I wasn't trying to be rude I was trying to help and to be fair I don't actually know what you already know. With regards to SEO, knowing what your doing, the ethical way of doing things involves many aspects and techniques, as I'm sure you already know. When I say natural, I mean at least to the eyes of Google. Basically don't create 2000 backlinks in a couple of days, that doesn't look natural. Anyway, I apologise if I seemed as though I was being funny with you, I wasn't. Plus I've had a few beers.
February 23, 200917 yr you need to start at the end. who is the person using your site. from that work backwards and promote in the areas they hang out. message sellers on the current site selling sites, also message buyers. i might go more in depth tomorrow.. fifthgear just started!
February 23, 200917 yr If you have any specific SEO questions, you can post them on SEO Tactics. One of the SEO guys on there will try and help you. The thing is that SEO is a complicated business and you really need to know at least some basic aspects. There is a link to a couple of SEO books in my signature, try one of those on Amazon.

February 25, 200917 yr There are some major improvements you can make for SEO. Whats with your meta keywords? they are all about real estate and nothing to do with the website. Changing them would be a start! Your website could benefit from being re-written in semantic XHTML without all those tables. There are also no h1,h2,h3 tags etc in the website. I suggest looking into improving your on site SEO before spending money on PPC. Pop along to the SEO section of the forums and the guys there can help further
