February 12, 200917 yr Hi my names leeanne, been on maternity leave for the last year from work, so took up a home learning course in webdesign (dreamweaver cs3) to do in my spare time and have really enjoyed doing it so ive applied to start a HND this year at college for interactive media - web design and delopment, should have probaly applied for the HNC first but cant get and student loans for it since ive all ready done a hnc years ago lol so need to impress the tutors when i go for my interview to even get a place at HND level so if yous have any tips or what sort of things i should try learning about before my interview in may it would be much appreciated
February 12, 200917 yr Welcome to the forum. You'll enjoy it here. In terms of advice, try getting a thorough knowledge of HTML, CSS.....and maybe javascript.

In terms of advice, try getting a thorough knowledge of HTML, CSS.....and maybe javascript. ive been reading through some of the messages on the other boards and im sort of getting the feeling that doing a course in dreamweaver cs3 wasnt the best idea i had lol most people seem to be saying start by using html codes and css is this true? i done a basic course years ago in web design and we only used html codes in notepad i think it was and i really enjoyed it but when i started phoning round n picking my home learning course they seemed to be selling dreamweaver cs3 as the best thing in web design, im confussed lol
February 12, 200917 yr You should always atleast learn the basics of web design using notepad. Learning Dreamweaver first installs the wrong web designing habit. Personally, I don't even use Dreamweaver. I think it is a waste money to buy dreamweaver when I could get editors that do the same thing, only they are free (Netbeans, Aptana, Komodo, etc)
