January 19, 200917 yr Hey again hunty! Unless you're actually streaming live video you don't need a dedicated server. All I would suggest is a shared server or possibly a VPS with a large bandwidth. For normal video file viewing a normal shared server host is fine. It's a unrequired expense for such a thing, I can't understand why you're host advised you otherwise! Good luck and we hope we can be of design use to you! Kindest Regards, B.

Heres a quote? I would imagine that with that level of CPU and a busy site you are going to run into a number of problems with performance. Maybe look at getting an Atom Server? http://www.a2b2.com supply them from £25 per month with a setup fee. Your going to get better performance from that box than I would think from a VPS with a burstable 500MHZ processing power. What kind of traffic does your site (if live) presently do?

January 20, 200917 yr I would never want a site like that running on a shared server... I would say VPS at a minimum and then upgrade to dedicated when the time came

Don't forget that VPS is still shared resources (processor) and you would still largely be best off starting off on a dedicated if you expect any growth. If you want vps then avoid the budget ones as the performance from them may not even be comparable to a "good" shared host.
