Embedding a notebook?

Featured Replies

Hi all

Is it possible to embed a diary or notepad into a webpage that a client can manage themselves? For example, the client could sign into their own online notebook to add up to date information that would show directly onto their website. I have done this for a calender but can't seem to find a way of doing it for notes or similar.

Many thanks

Probably the easiest way to do this is with a blogging system - after all "blogs" originally started as online diary type affairs. There are many blogging systems to choose from, Wordpress, Serendipity, Lifetype are a few that spring to mind. http://php.opensourcecms.com/scripts/show....2&cat=Blogs has a good list.

Thanks Bluedreamer, can blogs be embedded onto webpages?

It can be done, though in most cases it can be long winded. I believe Wordpress allows you to do this but you will need to ensure the page where you embed the content is served as a php compatible page.

If this facility is a key part of the site it might be worth considering using a blog system to run the whole site.

Need more information... have you got a URL for the site?
