December 28, 200817 yr I would like to sell a .zip file. Problem is I have very little knowledge of how to setup all of this. What I would like is for the user (who already has signed up to my website) to click a purchase button, they look at the lisense and click a button to agree to it. They are then redirected to Paypal where they pay for the product. Paypal then redirrects them back to my site where a message of confirmation of their payment and either the download link or a message saying it has been sent to them in an email. So far so good, I am able to cope with this and have it fairly well planned out, however it is the download and the download link I am having problems with. I would need the link to be encrypted or a similar method so the user could copy it and share the download with all of their friends, maybe a URL that changes. I'm not really sure as to how to go about this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Dave
December 29, 200817 yr Dave, This is how you should provide the download: Your buyer clicks on your sales link > goes to payment processor > redirected to your web site secure area > registers and downloads the zip file. You should be carefull about protecting the folder where you will keep zip file, because you don't want non-buyers to download it. Right? 1. Protect the folder with .htaccess (this is simple and your user don't have to register) 2. Use robots.txt to stop search engines crawling the folder. 3. Use index file to stop web accessible. These are simple techniques for a beginner Any questions post here, I will answer. Good luck! .
December 30, 200817 yr Author Thanks for the replies. ElanMan, I've recently had a look at some of these products including digitalgoodsdelivery.com but I've decided not to go with these. @radhika - Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a whirl.
