My school did a concert and I have a created this mini website. The purpose is so that parents can have a look but more importantly to showcase what we do in terms of cultural activities.

I like it! Nice and simple.

 

Only small issue is the line length of text seems too long for me. Also the Drums and Dreams bit is a bit orphaned.

Hi guys. Thanks. I have changed the menu slightly so that the line is not longer than it need be and moved the heading drums and dreams. Unfortunately I am sitting on a farm (holiday) in rural south africa an only have a very slow internet connection. As a result I have not been able to upload the changes:-(

Please could others also take a look and let me know what they think I could improve.

It's really nice looking website and does the job. If I were you though, where you have "Drums & Dreams", I'd add a margin, so that there is the same space between itself and the top as there is between the left hand side of the picture and the black space.

 

Because at the moment it seems as though it's sitting in the pictures margin, and it shouldn't be in my opinion.

Wonderfully simple - Agree with traxor about the margins, and maybe making the Drums and dreams a little bigger.

 

Other than that, I really like the site - Loved looking at the piccies of the kids.

Looks good. Very theater like. Keep it up.

Other than the above comments, the only other thing you could try is centre-aligning the text on Cast and Credits. As it stand there's a lot of unused whitespace, which you could counter balance if the text was in the middle. Overall though I love the simplicity of this site.

Badmotherz: I really like your idea of centre-aligning the text, totally agree that there is to much white space and this does seem to balance things a little more.

 

Helen: They are pretty cool photos, I think the photographer did a good job under some terrible lighting conditions!!!

 

Like you all, I also felt that the heading, Drums and Dreams is a little lost, so I have tried a few things. Unfortunately I am still using a very slow dial up connection and have not been able to upload actual pages. I have instead managed to take some screen shots.

 

I personally like B, the one with the slightly larger text below the header photograph. What do you guys think?
