November 9, 200817 yr Hi there, My name is Dave Morgan and I have been a website developer for about 11 months now. It started off with a fascination with coding and how a website work which led me to some work. I then took it on as a hobby and now i am looking at starting up as a freelance designer and developer. I would like people to take a look at my website and give me feedback. Also, if there was someone or a couple of people who was willing to give up some of their time to help me develop my skills and help me along the way I would be very grateful and in return can try to give you something back. If anyone is willing to have a chat with me you can pm me and I will give you my msn if that would be easier. Website: http://www.davemorganonline.co.uk *Note: I am still in the process of going through and updating and changing pieces. So it is not complete I understand but that part of why I want feedback so I know how to refine my site* Many regards, Dave Morgan
November 10, 200817 yr Hi David I'm not sure about the Red font on the gray background, I got to say I like the entrance page though.. !! Another thing, if you’re doing your portfolio, truthfully it should all be done by you?? Say if you’re stuck on how to do something, just type in the question in google... you’re bound to find the answer, if you don’t get the answer first time ask it in Google in various ways, you learn a lot too.
November 10, 200817 yr Alright Dave the site is looking good. I really like the banner on the photography page, although, I think you should work on getting the website banner up to the same standard.
November 11, 200817 yr Author Thanks all. Well as I said it is a work in process and everything is duely noted. Will post up again when I have had some time to make changes and have a play. Many thanks Davey
November 11, 200817 yr I'm going to second what alread been said about the red text ont he grey background, it is rather hard to read. I'm also not convinced that you've got the right font style for your website banner; eloquent script on flame just doesn't quite seem to work for me. The links within your pages are very hard to find. Try making them underlined by default. Also, try not to simply use "here" as the text for a link, for accessibility reasons it's much better to have the link say "click here to e-mail me" -- it's far more descriptive. When it comes to your about page, putting two spaces before the paragraph isn't the best way to produce the effect you're after. Try adding text-indent: 1em; to your style sheet -- it'll be much easier and quicker to modify, and you won't have to remember how many spaces were at the beginning every time you want a new paragraph. Speaking of paragraphs, I think that your choice of blue on a grey background for some of your photography pages doesn't really work, but it looks good on your index page. A lighter background to your paragraphs might make reading easier. Finally, I can't see why you'd want to separate your web design work from your photography work. Personally I'd make the one website instead of having two sides of the same site, but that's your choice. It would be nice to be able to switch from photography to web design without having to repeatedly press the back button to find the splash page. Maybe links at the bottom of your page to the different sides? Other than that, it's pretty good.

Thats a def. usability error.
