November 2, 200817 yr Hi Looking at a simple editing system for bespoke websites. I have begun to develop my own when I realised the potential magnitude of the exercise. I came across Instant Update and it seems far better than Joomla, Wordpress et al due to the fact it integrates with existing websites and can be used easily with any designs (no templates). Now, I have once before ripped Wordpress apart but it is a cumbersome way of building small-footprint sites. However, aside from writing an advertising blurb for this tool I wanted to know if anyone has had experience of it? Or is there something even better out there?
November 2, 200817 yr Hi, haven't used it myself but a lot of people on the forum use cushyCMS. Seems to be fairly straight forward (just add a class to your editable areas) and, more importantly, easy for your clients to use. Not sure how it compares to instant update but might be worth a look.
November 3, 200817 yr Author Thanks for this but it seems to be limited to online access only and the thing I liked about the idea of Instant Update was the fact that it was something you could package with the site itself. However, I will explore further!
November 19, 200817 yr I've used cushyCMS and it is a pretty good idea to me and its free which is very comforting. Have a look into it, its also very easy to get it intergrated with your website and there is a simple tutorial on homepage. Give cushy a go. Ben
