October 28, 200817 yr Hello Prototype test site so Flash is currently using standard invalid code...have tested in a few browsers and IE6 here at work isn't putting any margin at the top of the wrapper, seems fine on the Mac in all browsers and Ffox on Windows...haven't tested in IE7 as yet.. There ought to be 25 pixels above the wrapper and nav bar (within wrapper) that allows for yhe sitemap link that's dropped over the contact link.. Edit: a link would help!!! http://www.mikeswebdesign.co.uk/mm/fma/studio9/index.html Also my credit has gone awol from bottom of page in IE6...any ideas anyone...here's the relevant bits of code /*wrapper centres page*/ #wrapper { margin : 25px auto 0 auto; padding : 0 0 50px 4px; width : 954px; min-height : 547px; overflow : hidden; background-color : #fff; text-align : left; } /*fix for IE6 including stand alone version at BBC*/ * html #wrapper { height : 547px; overflow : visible; } #sitemaplink { position : absolute; top : 5px; left : 850px; padding : 0 0 5px 0; } #sitemaplink a { color : #fff; font-style : italic; font-size : 1.1em; letter-spacing : 0.2em; } #credit { position : relative; left : 400px; top: 10px; padding : 0 0 30px 0; font-style : italic; color : #000; letter-spacing : 0.1em; } XHTML best to view source... many thanks
October 28, 200817 yr Author Have you tried giving the sitemaplink div width and height? Cheer bluedreamer just tried that and sadly makes no difference. The sitemap div is outside of the wrapper in the xhtml, the wrapper has margin-top set to 25px. All very strange, had a similar one previous in IE7 where the margin at top of the <flash div> wasn't working, changed it to padding and all was fine. Problem here is I can't change to padding at top of the <wrapper div> as I actually want the background to show slightly above the white foreground/content area. Has to be some error soemwhere as previous evrsion of site worked fine with margin-top in IE6 + 7, also the credit gone awol is weird. Thanks for looking...
October 28, 200817 yr Author mmm removing the sitemap div actually gets the wrapper correct i.e. it has top margin, the credit is still awol though. certainly looks as though there'ssomething up in IE6 with both divs - #sitemap and #credit that were outside the wrapper.
October 28, 200817 yr In that case try using the sitemap div to provide bottom margin rather than using the #wrapper top margin?
October 28, 200817 yr Author Clearing all after sitemap has resolved that one, jsut the missing credit to sort now..
