October 14, 200817 yr Right, i use photoshop mainly for graphic creation/manipulation, and even at that, i would describe myself as a novice. My problem is that i have come up with a good idea for the visual branding for my business, including that contained on my website, however, i dont know how to go about creating the image. Can anyone please offer me any tips that they may think i might find useful, i would be extremely appreciative! Kind Regards Rick
October 14, 200817 yr My first thought would be to make use of that bleeding edge of technology, the pencil and paper. Make a detailed sketch of your idea, and break it down into parts. Try and isolate what makes up the different parts of your image, and ask google for photoshop tutorials for that particular effect. See how you go. Sorry if this isn't what you were after, but without knowing more about the image, it's hard to know what direction to point you in.
October 14, 200817 yr Youtube is also a very good resource for PS tutorials as you can watch it being done.
October 14, 200817 yr Easiest thing to do is draw on paper, scan into Photoshop/Illustrator then edit from there
October 15, 200817 yr Author The downside is that i cant really draw with pen & paper, im pretty useless in fact lol! I think im going to take your advice notbanksy and try to isolate each part of what i want and see how i get on!! Cheers for all the advice guys!
October 27, 200817 yr Correct, break your logo into elements and work with each element until visual success, and try mixing what you made. You might end up throwing away a lot of parts and simplification is normal. Working with art is a transformatinal process. When you create something it should stimulate emotional response. If you don't like it then change it to emit the right response. What you face is not a problem, just a matter of practice.
