Splash Design Website Critique

Featured Replies

I would re-do the banner, your logo has a strong graphic within it, so simplyfying the background and just letting the logo sit, may do the trick. I'd also reduce the font-size of Splash Design. What is with the flash banner? Buy a domain name! Google Ads at bottom?

the flash bit is just filler, i forgot to mention that, because I'm working on it at the moment.

the domain + hosting will be sorted once all ready

I agree about changing the banner and the font size of the logo

simplyfying the background

Should i just have a plain colour header background or just lighten the colours?

Yeah I'd add white on atleast 40% opac over the banner's pattern, good idea whoever said that. Also the wording for Splash Designs needs some sort of thought to it, right now it may aswell be plain italic text.

Also, the content text looks very much like filler, I have to scroll to read more than one line, and that flash just looks like a waste.

I don't know how easy it would be for you to do this but i think the layout would be improved if you got rid of the pattern behind the logo. Then took the navigation bar and put it right of the logo with a hairline divide?

Just an idea

It's an improvement, but I have the answer :). Right now the 2 largest parts of the content are on the same side (Text Content and Flash). On the left column you should have your text content, and on the right, the Flash, then your contact field underneath :)
