Website mockup for a software company.

The final version will incorporate a flash movie where the main image is currently situated.

 

I'm looking for feedback back mainly on layout and colours.

Although any other constructive cristisim is always welcome.

White is too cliche for a site now a day.

It's nice but I think the black is too much. How about a darker blue or a different contrasting colour. I know what you mean about white being too cliche but I also think the black is as well.

Actually the black works well as a background but not as the navigation.

The design is great.

But color is not just about be nice or cliche.

But shows the message that you want to give, the branding strategy, etc

And for a recruitmen website I think is not a good idea black as a background...

Personally I like the black. Couple of questions or improvements from me:

 

1) The branding is confused (for me). Is this by Eclispe or RSS, cos at the moment both are given equal prominence, which confuses? Then at the bottom you've got Eclipse WI...?

 

2) Menu navigation. Can I take is this shows the menu as it would expand, rather then behave by default? If it is the dfeault behaviour your navigation needs some work. It's too busy.

 

3) The whole "Site map", "About this site" and "Text size" is probably unnecessary at that level. You've put it at the top of the page giving it a higher priority visually and in the code than the main navigation. Also the text size widget is probably unnecessary.

 

4) The subheading in the three boxes half way down is too dark on the black background so you miss it. Suggest you use white instead.

In general a fairly mixed bunch of comments although all I think positive.

 

1. The product is Eclipse and the company is RSS. The website is powered by Eclipse WI. Eclipse is meant to have more prominence of which I think it does.

 

2. The menu is like that as default. There is a good number of links but I have tried to give them plenty of space to breathe.

How ever I may revisit this as you say it does look rather busy.

I think that this one is really good and have all mixture of components ....

 

this website is really impressive.

 

needs little bit branding and some colour work as well.....
