Hi, I took over a website for a hobby really, its a fishing site and im a keen fisherman.

but it went from being a hobby to being a full time job!

many sleepless nights and working though the night!

 

I have changed the site beyond recognitition over the last 7 months or so, it had a google pr0

when i first got it, it now has a google pr2.

My problem is i have had two mates who have said they dont like the way it looks.

this has bothered me for weeks.

I thought i had done a good job on this.

so could i have some comments from members please.

All comments would be very welcome.

I don't think it feels like a fishing site. It feels more like a site for a counter strike clan or something. Try using neutral, earthy tones for a better effect.

The layout of the site could be better, it feels very basic at the moment. Also, what is your site? Is it a shop for fishing supplies or is it a social network or is it a video sharing site?

I also think the odd image here or there wouldn't hurt.

Hi, its a social network.I had a couple of pics on the home page a while ago and the home page looked a lot different to what it does now.

I changed the look of the home page to tie in with the forum.

i will have a play around with some pics and see how it looks.

Could i have some reviews please.

Looks too dark to me. Not a fan of dark backgrounds. You'll find some people find them hard on the eye and they are a bit 1997 to be honst.

 

The dark background would be OK if the main panel with all of the content was white / light pastel colours.

 

Also try fixing the width rather than %'s.

 

As mentioned doesn't look like a fishing site.
