Huge improvement, it looks really nice!

Just a couple of teeny little picky things that stand out to me:

    1) The bit where the jagged edge goes down to make room for the "Download free trial" button looks really weird to me - for a start, it's not symmetrical, and depending on screen width, ends up making some really bizarre patterns. It kind of makes me think of skiing in the Alps (not that I've ever skiied in the Alps, but... y'know. If I had.). If I were you, I'd either find a way of doing it more cleanly, or just move it up a bit and leave everything on a line.

    2) The eight little fellas in the middle section aren't quite aligned properly with each other, both vertically and horizontally. Making all the images the same size should fix that. Also, it's not really clear that these blocks of texts are all links, which for an obsessive highlighter such as myself can (and did!) lead to highly distressing sudden jumps between pages. Have you considered some sort of change on mouseover, just to make it clear they're links? Maybe an underline on the titles? I would actually quite like to see some sort of different hover states on all the body & footer links, but maybe this is just because I clearly have a very short attention span and a deep-seated craving for shiny stuff that moves.

    3) The same thing re: accidentally clicking on a link goes for the blue section at the bottom too. I also think that the explanatory paragraphs in this bit are a SMIDGE too close to the titles. Also, this section isn't horizontally centered within the blue banner.

    4) Is the red arrow maybe a bit too far away from "Helping people do what they normally can't"?

To sum up: I am far too picky and bored and also evidently weirdly obsessed with perfect alignment and this is far better than anything I could ever do! Nice job.

    I agree.

I'd probably right align the navigation, it feels a bit out of place. And you should probably indicate that there is a submenu on some of the links. A little down arrow or something should do it.

    Good work!

Couple of quick points, design looks good, but the message is a little cluttered.

The menu is hard to read, we don't need an intro into every category, our team is obviously a team about staff at the company. You are making me read too much info, simple, fast navigations are a must, people just want to easily find their way around a site. So I'd ditch the menu intros.

"WhizBase: build unique solution that exactly meets your needs." This doesn't say what you do, I could have any problem, maybe you should be more specific?

I like the big picture on the home page, but you're making me look through a type of diagram the moment I hit your site, you should just be telling me straight up what you do and then have an image like this on a further information page.

Quick SEO point, your first word in your title and on your site is the most important for search engines, yours starts with 'Homepage' you're wasting one of the most vital places Google is reading for content on your site.

Your support says you're offline, during working hours... why not just lose it if it's not in effect?

Buy Now right at the top sends me straight off to a payment gateway, maybe I should be getting a summary of what I'm about to buy before leaving the website?

I had a hard time figuring out what you do: a kind of programming language that you embed in html (similar to PHP) and that provides easy integration with existing databases?

I find the big picture on the front page confusing, way to many arrows. The short info there isn't much use either: "WhizBase: build unique solution that exactly meet[...] your needs." I don't know which of my many needs you address. Focus on your core message (as I understand it): You help me manage my existing MS Office databases over the internet.

Make sure someone proof-reads what you write: "Basically, it can be used by anyone with basic HTML knowledge who knows how to open MS Access database or MS Excel sheet." You don't need the MS in front of Excel and Access.

Avoid vapid text: "WhizBase is a good choice whenever you need a fast, effective and unique solution."

I don't think you need the "Buy" button at the top, if someone spends EUR 80 they will probably take a look at the site first.

    Hope I could help :-)

    Hi Faik

It is a lot better this time, i can see how you have changed the layout a bit and it is definitely better, but still unclear what you offer.

After checking out some of the sites you and your team have made it shows that it is potentially something I might like as a designer with little programming skills.

I also viewed the videos about your database creation software and most of it looks very simple and again this suits me as a designer with no PHP/MySQL knowledge, i cant make database yet...

Since you are offering this to non programmers you should try to remove as much technical jargon as possible and make it easier to understand for people like me, your target audience.
Try to remove words like "intranet" as a designer i visually create websites (one day) for the internet and only from working at a IBM do i know a bit about intranet but most graphic designers might not.

Your 1.2.3 step idea is perfect, but would be better again with simpler info, maybe more graphic i.e.

You just created your clients website, now he wants a database.
    What do you do?
    1. Collect your clients data in a spreadsheet like Excel*, or tabled* in your favorite WYSIWYG editor.
    2. Add some simple, yet powerful, magic with the WhizBase wizard*.
    3. Upload* and your database is ready to go.

This is just a basic idea, and I would also suggest to have *keywords like Excel, WYSIWYG etc. show a pop up or lightboxy thing with more options on which software to use like the freeware version of Excel, Dreamweaver, Notebook++ etc, again not too much else to make fast impact, more details should be on the next pages.

I do like the lower navigation with the individual images, although you should invest in making them uniform, get an illustrator to create "Mr.Whizzy" or whatever and have a few different versions of him with every bit of info.
( I preffer the little man used for the "when to use" and "how does it work", he should be easie transformed to your wizards guide.

Cant wait to see more cause I do like your software ( most of it ), hope you find some inspiration in my opinion.

Lots and lots of words which say very little. I still dont know what your selling and your asking for too much of my time(as a potential customer) to find out.

Also, Is English your first language?.... If it isn't you have a superb command of the English language if not I do not mean this offensively as believe me I have written some utter rubbish on my sites in an attempt to churn out content and you haven't don't this. However, there is a lot of content to handle and you have begun waffle and whilst everything seems to be spelled correctly and there is a lot of info you have extra words all over the place and things don't quite read right or tell people what they want/ need to know. Get to the point.

    3 Simple rules for selling

1)Let the customer know what you are selling - immediately and in simple language... aim at the idiot and you wont go far wrong, if people don't know why they are on your site they wont stay for long.

2)Sales patter - now you can get more detailed and waffle a bit. But... before you do, list key product features and points of interest clearly and simply with links to more detailed info.

3)Make it really easy to buy or if you haven't sold your product then find an excuse to take contact details - free trial maybe or ofer something in exchange for contact details and pursue the sale later.

Writing compelling copy that sells a product is hard enough to do in a first language, let alone a second. Write it all out in your first language and do all your editing. Then once you're happy with it, translate it into English. You'll find it much easier that way.

    HI

I have two opinions on your website.

    1. I really like it, i also tend to make very busy designs with as much input as possible.
    2. I dont have the patience to find out what you offer me as customer/designer....sorry

As a designer with very little programing experience you probably offer software useful to me, but your site does not give me the chance to get "trapped" on the homepage.

I went through a hard learning period trying to get rid of clutter in any aspect of my life.

Less is more, this applies to your site, there should only be one thing attracting my attention, and this should lure me into checking out a few more pages to see if it can keep my attention.

There are so many wysiwyg editors arouns that you have to get your customers within less than 3-5 seconds.

Let us know how the new design is going

    good luck

    Hi Tom!
You have a very nice and clean web site. however, IMHO, if someone wants to read all of it (as I tried) his eyes will get tired and maybe he'll go somewhere else. OK, I'm 43 and it's 11PM now, but nevertheless many people that hire web designers are of my age.
Anyway, I just wanted to say that dark blue letters on this same background (blue-text.jpg) were much easier for me to read. Maybe it's just me, don't know.
