yeah it is very new, I only uploaded the content two days ago and finished everything off yesterday. I will give it a few months then with the content and techniques I have at the moment and see if I get any hits.

I have opened my new website here. I was just wondering how long it would take to show any signs that my SEO techniques are working or they are not working? How long would consistent hits take to develop? Also can you give any tips about SEO?

Was this degree a foundation degree am I correct? I couldn't do computer science I dont think its too hardcore coding by the sounds, I like to stick to XHTML/CSS/ and PHP/ASP/JS/APACHE etc I dont seem to get on with Java/C++ etc

Yes this is my point exactly I love designing and working with CSS/XHTML, Flash, JS, Flash but Java is too complex for me and I have some assignment questions to do and I just dont get them lol Any chance of help?lol PM me if there's any chance you could help "Web Design"

I didnt know there is two different types of Java but we are just learning Java I think. I dont see at all how this will be used as a web designer tbh, we are doing Object Oriented Design so whatever type of Java that is plus learning arrays, strings, driver classes, loops, aggretation etc all other stuff. Im just finding it so hard lol we are sharing this module with computing, forensic computing and computer science so I really dont get what the link between web design and this is. I wouldnt mind learning PHP as I think I could then build my own CMS or form mail etc other basic php things. We learn this in the second year but it just frustrates me that we have to do this module because we dont even have to do it next year!

Hey guys just a quick question, I am studying Web Design at Uni. We have a module solely on Java, I just wondered is there any similarities between Java and PHP/ASP.net etc all of the server side languages because I dont get why we have to learn it ?I don't see why a web designer would want to learn java or need to learn java surely this is more computer science/software building side of things?

Is there a way to show a live example but not upload it to a server. I would like to show a design I have just done and has a flash image scroller in but if I show it as just an image the full effect is not there. I dont have access to the clients server yet as its a redesign is there anywhere where I can temporarily upload it? Or do I have to upload it to the server.

If anybody has any spare time could you have a look through my code and see if I have coded correctly if I want a liquid layout. Yeah thats what I mean. Do all dimensions have to be in % when using a liquid layout or is it only certain elements like margin, padding that have to be and the others such as height will remain declared in px.

Quick Question, what elements in the CSS change from px to % when using a liquid layout? for example I tried using % for a div height which had a background image but wouldnt change unless I used %. if this question makes sense sorry for confusion
