How do I get out of hosting a client's Website?
I developed and hosted a small website for a client 3-4 years ago. We have no formal contract but I invoice him every year for hosting and his domain name renewal. The relationship isn't good and hosting the site is more trouble than it's worth. He hasn't paid for the current hosting period which was due on March 1st. Because the amount I charge is so small I have spent a huge amount of time chasing payment but have sent him two emails reminding him that it's due. I guess that if I threaten to suspend the site he will pay up. I no longer want to host the site. Can anyone advise on the best way forward? I'm thinking of saying something along the lines of If he doesn't pay within 7 days I'll suspend the site. In addition I'm not prepared to renew his hosting contract when it comes up for renewal next year. Thanks

Theme/Plugin ideas for group buying website
I've been asked to develop a website similar to http://www.oil-club.co.uk. Initally users sign up and select their location from a list or map. When they sign in after that they land on a page specific to their area with all of thier local info. They also get emails when orders are about to be submitted. I'm sure that there will be an easy way to do this perhaps with a membership plugin? But I can't think of it. Any ideas of themes or plugins that will do this? Thanks

Cartoonist site - Should I seperate the adult content?
Hi I've been asked to price a website for a cartoonist. He is looking for a website to showcase his work. Most of it is suitable for anyone to look at but he has some adult comic strips and images. I'd like to include it all in the same site but have no idea about how adult sites work. Is there anything that I need to be aware of? Do I need to do anything to prevent children stumbling over it? etc Any advice gratefully received

Thanks for taking the time to make all of those suggestions it all makes sense. I'll get working on some changes. I've also had some comments from the customer who prefers the lighter grey so I may have to compromise on that and lighten it a bit which is a shame as I also think it works better with a darker contrast. I put all of the textures and colour variations in as I thought it looked a bit flat. The gradient was to try and get accross the feeling of the warm sun but I take your point about it loooking cheap. It's great to have some constructive suggestions to work on - mk 3 coming up!!

School Website - Ver 3
Hi Oh how I can sympathise with negative feedback! Well done! I think that it looks very clear and accessible. I like the images along the bottom of the page. Just a couple of small things that I would change. You have some lovely images in your footer but I'm not so keen on the one on your about us page. On your curriculum page, the images may look better with a border or frame. Great overall though!

Yes I admit i do have mixed feelings about having a site on my portfolio that is not as I would design it having a free hand. I think there has to be some compromise but I am going to show him a version as I would want it!

Oh it's nice to have a bit of positive feedback! I am going to look again at the gray. It's interesting what you say about the client. My next move was to give him an option of the site as he has specified and a version that I thought was better I'll definitley do that. Thanks for your comments.
