javascript countdown on page load
Can anyone point me to an example of a javascript counter that counts down from page load? I need one to countdown for example 2 mins from page load, until a download link expires. I just need the counter functionality, it doesn;t need to hook into any action after expiry. Has anyone seen anything like this?

Google maps resource / gallery
Hey I've a requirement to show a Google map with two locations linked up. When a link on the page is clicked (or when the pointer for location A is clicked) the map should either pan out to show location B or move along both axis to show location B. Does anyone know of any suitable resources that demonstrate something like this? Pref using only the Google maps api and javascript (no flash).

addClass if element empty
I've since managed to solve the issue at the root of the problem in the CMS, however it leaves my question unanswered as we still have areas where this happens. Anyone know?

addClass if element empty
Hey It does make sense but unfortunately at the moment we're limited to awkward markup in certain situations, due to content management limitations. If an element is empty I wish to add a class that will give it a none display. When this element has an image, the span act's as a mask with an overflow hidden. Cheers

addClass if element empty
Hey How would one go about adding a class to an element if that element has no content? I have tried the following: if($$('.box span.className') == 0) { $$('.box span.className').addClass('test'); } where I wish to add the class onto the span with class "className" inside the div with class "box"? I have a span which I wish to hide if there's no children elements. Could I use .hide or hasChild or something like that? (we utilise mootools).

display main content with mootools
Hey! I have a requirement to display a range of summaries (headline, summary text, possible thumbnail image) on a page using mootools. At the moment, we display these summaries on a 2 column page, left nav (say 30%) and right content (70%). We're moving to a 3 col layout and need to display the same summaries in the main central column (left 20%, right 20%, central 60%). (business requirements have been decided, we can't get away from 3 col, and because of (enterprise) cms restrictions we'll be using the mootools framework) Examples of mootools to display headlines and summaries Does anyone have examples of using mootools / javascript to display a range of summaries on a page, for example accordion type scripts? I'm just after a way to present lots of content in a small area. Any advice appreciated!

Accessible table markup
Would it be advisable to include only scope="row" when there's a one to one relationship between the row header and row data, with no column headings? IE, just a table of rows with headings, no column headings. Would it be good to include row scope on these even though there's only one header per row?

hide email address in source
I have a requirement to display an email address on screen in the markup. What's the most effective way to combat it being spidered? • using the acsii version in the source? • using an image of the email address? • using javascript to spit it once the page is loaded? I need a fairly simple solution so don't really want to get involved with server side solutions. My thoughts I've used images in the past, and they've been full proof. But IE seems to be muddy when displaying some images, which doesn't look good when the email addres shows as crisp clear anti aliased text (eg screenshot taken from firefox). I'm happy to use the ascii version, but I'd be keen to hear users experiences with results. If you've any javascript examples I'd be happy to impliment something simple, although I'd rather have something written in the markup.

Padding-Top, or something?
margin:o; sets all margins to 0, TRBL. margin:auto; lets the browser set the margins. to centre a div use margin: 0 auto; (top and bottom 0, left and right auto)

Accessible table markup
I'm rebuilding my tables to make them accessible. <table summary="Week 29 Timetable showing rooms booked and rooms available." cellspacing="0"> <caption>Week 29 Room Availability</caption> <tr> <th scope="col">Day</th> <th id="meeting1" scope="col">Meeting Room 1</th> <th id="conference" scope="col">Conference Room</th> <th id="theatre" scope="col">Theatre</th> </tr> <tr> <th id="monday" scope="row">Monday</th> <td headers="meeting1 monday">Design Team</td> <td headers="conference monday">Directors</td> <td headers="theatre monday">Available</td> </tr> <tr> <th id="tuesday" scope="row">Tuesday</th> <td headers="meeting1 tuesday">Accounts Team</td> <td headers="conference tuesday">Available</td> <td headers="theatre tuesday">Available</td></tr> <tr> <th id="wednesday" scope="row">Wednesday</th> <td headers="meeting1 wednesday">Development Team</td> <td headers="conference wednesday">Available</td> <td headers="theatre wednesday">Content Team</td> </tr> <tr> <th id="thursday" scope="row">Thursday</th> <td headers="meeting1 thursday">Design Team</td> <td headers="conference thursday">Available</td> <td headers="theatre thursday">Design Team</td> </tr> <tr> <th id="friday" scope="row">Friday</th> <td headers="meeting1 friday">Available</td> <td headers="conference friday">Directors</td> <td headers="theatre friday">Dev Team</td> </tr> </table> I have specified scope="col" to each of the first row headers to indicate it as columns. Is it necessary to then indicate subsequent row headers as scope="row"? I've assigned ids to the top row headers, so they can be referenced in the column cells below. If I were to assign the top row headers abbreviations instead of ids, (eg abbr="meeting1", abbr="conference", abbr="theatre") would these be picked up in column cell headers below?

site moving a few pixels off center
i have a website where all of the pages are centered fine with auto margins. however, there's one page which loads and it looks as though it's shifted a couple of pixels to the left. when i take out the content, it loads fine. in line with the others. i've added element at a time to see what's causing it, sometimes it's fine with the <h1> tags and <p> tags, but when i add an image it knocks out. sometimes it's fine with the image until i add the <h1> tags! does this sound familiar to anyone? i have * {margin: 0; padding: 0;} at the top of the page. i've tried setting 0 margin and padding on the h1, p and img tags but no luck. Page Two is just a copy of Page one, but with the "features" section copied over a few times. I wish to have many "features" on the page, but it seems to have been knocked out of place a bit. All that is contained in each feature bit is a header tag, blockquote tag, paragraph tag and an image tag. HELP!
