If I'm not mistaken it should embed them. It might be a preference/option so you should look into it. If it becomes an issue you should do what us web designers do; export the text as an image and use the image. Unless you want some fancy transitions (which usually don't add anything, just make it flashier not better) no one will notice a difference. Also, depending on the version of PowerPoint, you might want to see if it has an export to QuickTime feature. I don't know about PP but I know Keynote (Mac equivalent) has the ability to export it as a Quicktime presentation where you click to trigger the next action. It creates a large file, but suddenly it can be opened on any computer that has Quicktime, regardless of fonts or PowerPoint/Keynote. And the vast majority of computers have Quicktime these days.
