  1. Hey Guys Apologies for being a noob in advance. Iv tried to keep this post as simple as possible! Im currently trying to learn web design and development while working a full time job. Hoping that someone out there may be able to point me in the right direction. My plan is to create an online course which is either hosted by a course platform like teachable or do it by installing a plug in. Ill admit upfront that my web skills are limited at this point so I may end up going for an online platform. Has anyone had any experience with a plug in that lets you host your own courses on your site or used teachable? Im also very interested to know if anyone has made a presentation where the person taking the course can hover their cursor over a picture and other pictures pop up with information depending where there cursor is. Thanks and firm handshakes all around Oli
  2. As in a drag and drop plugin for word press or a theme which has the drag and drop capabilities. Know of any that you have used successfully and can recommend?
  3. Hey guys Can anyone recommend a visual editor for a noob (that works with wordpress) which I can create a good website with? Any advice would be great. Cheers Ollie
  4. Thanks Jane B! At the moment I m very noobish....infact most of this evening has been spent trying to download a plugin which has failed epically. Im not going in yet though and will try again tomorrow after work Thanks for your help!
  5. Just a thought Ash.... This seems like a really basic thing to have in the sense of having a page on your website where you can easily organize/categorize content for users. Am I missing a tick here or is there something that's easier to to organize content? Thanks Ollie
  6. Ash Many thanks for the swift response. I am a first timer but in for the long haul! I bought a domain name 3 years ago and have sat on it so i decided its finally time to roll up the sleeves and get stuck in. Ill keep my eye out for one! Cheers Ollie
  7. Dear All Iv recently embarked on attempting to design a website using Wordpress....However, I have hit my first hurdle. I would like to develop a blog style website and design it so that I can have an articles page where previous articles are listed in alphabetical order or grouped under nice sections to make the website user friendly. Here comes the noob question - Do I have to buy a theme that has this feature or is this something that I could do with any template? Many thanks Ollie
  8. Alex and Robert Thanks for your responses....I had a look at the links and there were really useful. Looks like I have a long journey ahead of me! Regards Ollie
  9. Hey Everyone! Thought id say hello and introduce myself. Im Ollie, and am currently working a full time job with a view to quit within the next 6 months to start building websites online while travelling abroad. The scary thing is that I don't have any web design experience but a passion to provide some really useful information to people out there (and maybe make a little bit of money if to pay for a beer here or there). Like the topic says, im at the bottom of the mountain and am starting a slow climb by downloading Wordpress and listening to youtube tutorials. I welcome any tips or information that anyone may wish to share! Look forward to talking with some of you in the future. All the best Ollie
