Spaces between DIVs?
In which CSS class? The images are set to border="0" already, yet they still create that odd white space in Firefox and not IE.

Spaces between DIVs?
Sweet, I just did that for all my divs in CSS and it now looks perfect in IE. http://www.wspentertainment.com/2016/template1.html However, there's still spacing in FF! What's wrong there? And on that note FF seems to be giving my all kinds of grief. I feel like a noob all over again. I tried to start populating the menu area with a header and image buttons for naviation, which you can see here: http://www.wspentertainment.com/2016/2016.html Once again, it looks fine in IE (the little white around the menu buttons are borders) but in FF, there's not only still the spacing issues from above, but there are space between the menu image buttons! ARGH!

Spaces between DIVs?
Hmmm, I just tried that and it didn't seem to have worked. http://www.wspentertainment.com/2016/template1.html Did I do something wrong somewhere? I thought I followed your instructions...

Spaces between DIVs?
Hi all. I've got a template I'm trying to set up before populating each section with content. Here it is: http://www.wspentertainment.com/2016/template.html - In IE, there is a white space between the red content section and the footer - In FF, I get that white space but now it's between the light blue and red content sections. Then there's a space between the footer and both content sections above it, as well as another one on the left hand side of the page. What am I doing wrong?

Changing a site from PayPal to Google Checkout
Hi all! I have some mid-level knowledge of web design, closer to advanced. My dayjob sees me creating HTML newsletters for my company, as well as creating content for their website. A co-worker (superior) approached me and asked if I would be interested in helping his family business' website, which sells home decor products. Currently, they have a rather small selection that you can add to cart and then pay for via PayPal checkout. My co-worker asked if I would be interested in converting those items to purchasable via Google Checkout instead, as well as adding Google Analytics to the 5 pages that comprise the entire website. The Google Analytics part seems cake (just copying some code into each page, right?) but, as for the Checkout, is that something complicated? He also wants to know how much I'd charge. I thought $100 but I don't know if that's lowballing or way over-charging, as I've not done something like this before. I appreciate any input from you all! Thanks in advance!

Trying to position a div under another
Hello everyone! I'm trying to create a layout but am running into a problem. I've attached the HTML page and will post the code at the end of this. You can also view the example online here. I am trying to move the gray box that currently appears above the red one, so that it instead appears under the light gray box on the left. I'm not quite sure of how to do this, though. Any ideas? On another note, any idea on why there is a space above the footer and actually as a border around the gray box I'm trying to move when this page is viewed in FF, but not when viewed in IE? Thank you so much, in advance. And here's the code itself: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>2016 Template</title> <style type="text/css"> <!-- .container { background-color: #FFFFFF; width: 716px; margin: 0 auto;} body { background-color: #5e5e5e;} .header { width: 716px; height: 255px; margin: 0 auto; padding: 0px;} .menu { float: left; width: 236px; height: 255px; margin: 0 auto; padding: 0px;} .portrait { float: right; width: 480px; margin: 0 auto; padding: 0px;} .content { float: right; width: 480px; margin: 0 auto; padding: 0px;} .latestnews { float: left; width: 236px; margin: 0 auto; padding: 0px;} .newsletter { width: 236px; margin: 0 auto; padding: 0px;} .footer { width: 716px; height: 60px;} --> </style> </head> <body> <div class="container"> <div class="header"> <div class="menu"><img src="images/menu.jpg" /></div> <div class="portrait"><img src="images/portrait.jpg" /></div> </div> <div class="main"> <div class="latestnews"><img src="images/latestnews.jpg" /></div> <div class="newsletter"><img src="images/newsletter.jpg" /></div> <div class="content"><img src="images/content.jpg" /></div> </div> <div class="footer"><img src="images/footer.jpg" /></div> </div> </body> </html> template.html

InDesign quick relearn?
Oh, I know Dreamweaver CS3 no problem, but the guy that will be my boss mentioned InDesign in the interview, so my guess is they still use it there. So any tutorials for that (or hell, even Quark) would help me get back into it

InDesign quick relearn?
Hi all! First, hope this is the right forum and will get best exposure to get good answers. I just got a new job (hooray me!) where I'll be helping a company turn their magazines into webzines. While I'm good with Photoshop and know Illustrator (or at least where to brush up on it - though of course I welcome your suggestions on that as well), I haven't used InDesign since college almost four years ago (and actually, I think the primary focus when I was in college was Quark). While I don't know how often I may be called on to use InDesign at my new job, I still would like to brush up on it. I know that if I open it and play around with it (maybe some basic and medium-skill tutorials), things should click again. Does anyone know where I could find some of these? Thanks!

I can't figure out my layout
I've been trying to create a patriotic CSS template. I took one I used before, Dark Ritual, and started modifying it using assets I'd found on the web, as well as colors, etc. Here is what I've got so far. The problem I am encountering is that I have an image being used in the main middle column (called .main in the CSS. It can be found here. Unfortunately, the sections of the site under the navmenu and under the Related Links/Other Stuff column contrast to the middle column. So then I tried to apply the same image in CSS to these sections. What I did was create a new XHTML document, create the container div just like in the example above, then laid each element into the container div just like in the example above. However, I put the navbar, main, and leftmenu (called main_right) into its own div, which I called content. I figured I could just make the background image of the content div be the aforemention background image. <div class="container"> <div class="header"></div> <div class="content"> <div class="navbar"></div> <div class="main"></div> <div class="main_right"></div> </div> <div class="footer"></div> </div> However, this happened instead. No idea why. Would anyone be so kind as to explore my source code from the links provided, perhaps the CSS as well, and enlighten me as to how I can achieve the look of the middle column shown here, only extended to cover the width of the section between the header and footer? Thank you very very much.

Correct style in Firefox, not in IE though
Here's the particular URL: http://www.wspentertainment.com/ecoa/tier9.html If you view it in Firefox (I'm using 3.0.1), you'll notice white divider lines between each row. If you view the same URL in IE (I've got 7.0.5730.11), those lines disappear and it's just all mashed together. I'm not sure why, especially since the white border for each column remains. Even the text is off for the middle column's title. Again, not sure why. Anyone have any ideas/solutions? Thank you!

Using variables in questionairre to determine next page
Just an update: I managed to sort of do this, using a modified version of a script I found. You can see what I ended up doing, in action, here. Feel free to browse the source.

Popup window links
That sounds good, but I don't really know how to do that The client ended up going in a different direction, and I posted that new set of quirks here.

Using variables in questionairre to determine next page
This may just be a JavaScript solution (though I still am unsure of how to proceed), but here's what's going on: I'm trying to create a simple 2 question questionnaire that sends the visitor to a page dependent on their answers. Here's the jist of it. Question 1: What type of company are you? Type 1 Type 2 Type 3 Type 4 Question 2: What is your company's annual revenue? Revenue 1 Revenue 2 Revenue 3 Revenue 4 What I'm looking for is to create a simple form using radial buttons, where whichever option the visitor chose determines what site next displays when they click a Next button. I plan to have Question 1 on its own page, since certain Types of companies (let's say a non-profit company) would exclude certain annual Revenue options (say $10 billion or more). So if a visitor chose Non-Profit for Question 1, then clicked Next, the next page would display with only the viable options for Question 2. So basically I'd be creating multiple versions of a page containing Question 2, and whichever option the visitor selected in Question 1 would determine which page was displayed next. Similarly, whichever of the displayed options the visitor selects for Question 2 then determines the page they finally land on when they hit Next. I know it may be possible to display both questions on the same page, with the radial chosen for Question 1 determining the displayed answers for Question 2, but I have no idea how to do this. Honestly, whichever is a faster result is preferred (deadlines and all). If anyone can help me do this, I would be forever grateful. Thank you in advance.

Popup window links
Hello everyone! I'm not sure if this goes here or in another forum. Feel free to move and delete this line if so! Anyways, I'm working with a client that wants me to create a popup window that will display information when a user clicks a designated link (ie User clicks "choice a," popup window shows info about choice a) - easy enough with JavaScript. The visitor will then make a decision, clicking on one of two links. Either way, I'd like the link to open in the original window, rather than a new one. How can I go about this? Thank you in advance!
