Thanks for the reply "williamsGraphics". Sorry I didn't make it clear that my blog is bespoke not Wordpress. I have decided to go with the advice offered by the first two replies. Is it just me or are we having to spend too much time and effort complying with the whimbs of google?

Thank you both for your quick replies. Sometimes the simplest solution is not only the best but is often overlooked. I think the "summary phrase" not only provides a more descriptive index entry but also avoids any duplicate content issues. Thanks

Hi I am building a blog and would like to structure it as below however I have been told there may be issues with duplicate internal content re the snippet text being a copy of the main text. Structure:- blog.php: This will contain a list of all blog entries displaying title & first 15 words snippet with "read more" link. The "read more" link will display the full blog entry eg. blogentry.php?entry1 etc Will the fact that the title & snippet is displayed in blog.php create a duplicate content issue with blogentry.php?entry1? Hi, Video on the web seems a bit of a black art however when I added some to my website I had to add the following to the .htaccess file to get it to work:- AddType video/ogg .ogv AddType video/mp4 .mp4 AddType video/webm .webm Good luck Steve

That's brilliant advice Nock thankyou. I will do as you advice as I don't want the trailing / to be the default. I've just added the canonical link as advised by an SEO expert. I clearly didn't fully understand/research the implications of the trailing /. Cheers

Although I have the <link rel="canonical" href="http://www.theweddingstorytellers.eu/about-wedding-story-tellers.php" /> on this domain I have other websites that don't have a rel=canonical and they are experiencing similar problems if I add a trailing / to the url. Will removing/changing the rel=canonical change the listing on google to appear without the trailing / ? An alternative solution I have come with is to include the full http:// address for the css & images but is this good practice? Cheers

Hi I have just noticed that google has added a trailing / to my url in it's index. This is causing my css to be ignored + images. What is the best practice for correcting this.
