  1. I seem to have it sorted thanks jamest for your help
  2. so your saying I should have <div class="tool.show"> content here </div> instead of <tool class="show"> content here </tool> ??
  3. hmm you don't seem to have any bits you can repeat, so If I were you with that design I wouldn't slice it at all I'd take all the text off and save the background then set it as my background on the page then build transparent div layers for the rest of the page so the user only has to load up the background instead of lots of little images where you've cut it up
  4. you'll have to show me an example as I understand it you define the css properties example { blah der lar dar } and then call them like <example>object here</example> how should it be done, and more importantly will it fix my navigation bar?
  5. tool isn't an attribute but the name of my class for the navigation bar but please stick to the problem I'm aware the code has a lot of non related problems
  6. hi there my first post here so bare with me I run a smf forum over at http://dinogod.com now if you go over there you'll see different things depending on your browser if your running internet explorer 6 you'll see: if your running firefox 3 you'll see: now those of you who are good at spot the difference will see my problem firefox 2 is somewhere inbetween that navigation bar will be displayed wrongly at the top there with transparency supported I have not tested my site in ie7 but I assume it to be similar to firefox 2 now on to the nitty gritty code: <style type="text/css"> tool { position:static; float:right; margin: 2.5em 0 0 0; width:1% z-index:5; filter:alpha(opacity=75);-moz-opacity:.75;opacity:.75; align:right } tool.show:hover { filter:alpha(opacity=95);-moz-opacity:.95;opacity:.95; } </style> echo ' <tool class="show"> <table id="Table_01" width="713" height="40" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td colspan="14"> <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/test_01.png" width="712" height="9" alt=""></td> <td> <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/spacer.gif" width="1" height="9" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td> <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/test_02.png" width="22" height="1" alt=""></td> <td rowspan="2"> <a href="http://dinogod.adrianhosting.com/smf/index.php" > <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/beta-new-skin_03.png" width="43" height="21" border="0" alt=""></a></td> <td rowspan="2"> <a href="http://dinogod.adrianhosting.com/smf/index.php?action=profile" > <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/beta-new-skin_04.png" width="53" height="21" border="0" alt=""></a></td> <td rowspan="2"> <a href="http://dinogod.adrianhosting.com/smf/index.php?action=arcade" > <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/beta-new-skin_05.png" width="47" height="21" border="0" alt=""></a></td> <td rowspan="2"> <a href="http://dinogod.adrianhosting.com/smf/index.php?action=shop" > <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/beta-new-skin_06.png" width="47" height="21" border="0" alt=""></a></td> <td rowspan="2"> <a href="http://dinogod.adrianhosting.com/smf/index.php?action=gallery" > <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/beta-new-skin_07.png" width="62" height="21" border="0" alt=""></a></td> <td rowspan="2"> <a href="http://dinogod.adrianhosting.com/smf/index.php?action=showcase" > <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/beta-new-skin_08.png" width="62" height="21" border="0" alt=""></a></td> <td rowspan="2"> <a href="http://dinogod.adrianhosting.com/smf/index.php?action=blog" > <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/beta-new-skin_09.png" width="55" height="21" border="0" alt=""></a></td> <td rowspan="2"> <a href="http://dinogod.adrianhosting.com/smf/index.php?action=links" > <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/beta-new-skin_10.png" width="43" height="21" border="0" alt=""></a></td> <td rowspan="2"> <a href="http://dinogod.adrianhosting.com/smf/index.php?action=search" > <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/beta-new-skin_11.png" width="60" height="21" border="0" alt=""></a></td> <td rowspan="2"> <a href="http://dinogod.adrianhosting.com/smf/index.php?action=mlist" > <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/beta-new-skin_12.png" width="74" height="21" border="0" alt=""></a></td> <td rowspan="2"> <a href="http://dinogod.adrianhosting.com/smf/index.php?action=calendar" > <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/beta-new-skin_13.png" width="69" height="21" border="0" alt=""></a></td> <td rowspan="2"> <a href="http://dinogod.adrianhosting.com/smf/index.php?action=login" > <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/beta-new-skin_14.png" width="59" height="21" border="0" alt=""></a></td> <td> <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/test_15.png" width="16" height="1" alt=""></td> <td> <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/spacer.gif" width="1" height="1" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td rowspan="2"> <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/test_16.png" width="22" height="30" alt=""></td> <td rowspan="2"> <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/test_17.png" width="16" height="30" alt=""></td> <td> <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/spacer.gif" width="1" height="20" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="12"> <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/test_18.png" width="674" height="10" alt=""></td> <td> <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/spacer.gif" width="1" height="10" alt=""></td> </tr> </table> </tool> '; alot of that second block of code isn't really related its just the tables that make up the images for that navigation bar I should really code that using css and standard text but I'll work on that another day can someone help me to get the navigation bar in the same place in all browsers, keeping in mind this is my first shot at css a lot of that css at the top there was me testing things to try and get the nav bar to behave that I just haven't edited out Thanks for your time
