That Zelda Fan

OK, thanks for clearing that up for me... The way some people talk about HTML5 is almost as if it were something different and it always confused me. Well now it looks like I am off to read for hours and hours Thanks for the reply! I appreciate you taking the time seeing as they must have seen a little retarded (the questions)

Hello everyone, I made a post before I came here though, it was asking some questions about what to start with and such. You can see it here: http://www.webdesignerforum.co.uk/topic/71526-i-need-a-little-help-defining-where-i-should-start-htmlcss-and-html5-questions/ Just as the title suggests, I am a web designer looking to get more into the development side of this web stuff, I am struggling right now though, but hopefully not for too much longer! I'm willing to put the effort in and I have a little time to do so too I look forward to using this forum and trying to help out other designers while I am working on learning the coding side of things

Hello everyone, I need a little help here... I'm a designer, althugh I haven't done much web design lately I am looking to get into the development side of things. I have been looking into things and everyone says to learn HTML/CSS and PHP, I know that I want to start learning PHP but first I need to have a little question of mine answered. What is the difference between HTML and HTML5. Why would you use one over the other? I have seen some really interesting things done with HTML5 and I am trying to figure out where I should start learning, I will be mostly taking my designs and coding them into functioning sites. There is a nother thing that relates to this forum though that I want to ask, I want to be creating mimalistic metro inspired sites too, I have been using images so far but as I have been reading over the internet I am starting to believe that I can do this with CSS and it will go MUCH faster?? I am a complete noob when it comes to programming but any help will be much appreciated as I am just trying to maximise my time efficiency, I don't want to start learning one language and then realise that I didn't need to or that it could have been done a better way. Thanks for reading
