Hi guys Thanks to everyone's help on here earlier in the year i finished my website *yay* and now i'm back with more questions I'm curious about making a website that will display correctly on mobile devices and wondered if anyone had any tutorials they'd recommend? I know there are a lot of websites out there that will either turn your existing website into one suitable for mobile devices, but where's the fun in that I want to have the knowledge myself However i'm not sure what to search for on google as all i seem to be getting is page after page of sites like the stuff i mentioned. I want some tutorials lol. Hope you guys can help me thanks from Archer

So i've been have a practice with these, however using the suggestion in the second link mteam posted (the ryancollins one - still can't post links lol) the hidden content is only visible while the mouse is hovering over it. That isn't what i want. Ideally I'd like the content to remain visible until another link is clicked. However i have no idea how to do that despite having a go at it lol. Anyone who has a better grasp on this than i do have any ideas Thanks for your help with this guys

I was going to suggest the same thing as 4li4s. If you've tried that and it isn't working, could it be that the link you've entered is incorrect??? Or maybe there's an issue with your code. If you could post that it would help see what the issue might be

Right basically I have a page with several links on it. What i want is certain parts of the content to be hidden and then when you click the link relating to that content, it shows up, click another link, the info for that link shows up etc. Is that possible using just CSS??? I figure there's probably a way to do it with javascript (which if anyone had any tips on it i'd love to hear ) but was mostly curious to see whether it can be done with just CSS. I have the info in seperate divs and can make those divs hidden, but want to make them unhidden when the link is pressed lol Thanks in advance

Thanks guys i'll have a look through those links later And yeah, i was getting majorly frustrated this weekend lol. Any info i could find mentioned javascript, but was just snippets here and there on forum posts from 2007/2008 lol so when i couldn't get the code right, there was no follow up to it. Anyone? The only stuff i can find online is either from years ago or isn't explained at all and i can't get it to work lol

Basically i want it so when someone clicks on a link on my website, the info from that page is loaded into a div on my main page rather than having the whole website reload and take the user to a different page I hope that makes sense

Ok, i knew a new dilemma today would pop up, and it has. Right so i've made my website using DIV tags and it looks nice and does what i want it to do etc, but now i've come to adding links. Basically i want my links to open up in the center of the page (div id=content) rather than reloading the whole page. I used to do this with frames etc, and a quick google shows me you need jquery or java to do this same feat using DIV tags. However everything i seem to find online, isn't working correctly, or the coding isn't explained at all and it's just confusing me (it's 1am and i've been at this for the last few hours, my brain has now melted lol) Would anyone on here be so kind as to possibly explain how i would go abou tgtting my links to work. Also while i'm asking for favours here, do i need to do anythign special to the extra pages i'm creating??? Thanks in advance guys

Thanks for the help guys I've made a start on something but am having major issues with a sticky footer. Found a dozen websites that all give different ways of doing it and i'm making a bit of a mess actually integrating it into my current layout. Any tips anyone?

Thank you for your help As i said the site is just for a friend for one of their hobbies so there isn't really a time restriction and certainly no money involved lol Is HTML5 similar to the HTML of old or is it drastically different?

Hi I'm new and in need of a little help please I used to make websites a lot a few years ago but haven't done one in some time. However a friend has asked me to have a go at building a website for them and I've said I'd give it a go However what has sort of knocked me a little bit is where to start. I used to use HTML and CSS to build my websites however when i was speaking to someone the other day and i mentioned that they laughed and said no one does websites like that any more. Like i said i've been out of the web designing loop for a few years so don't know whether he was right or pretends to know more than he does. I've drafted up a basic design template of what i'd, visually, like the site to resemble and divided it into different areas. Basically section one would be a title which i'd like to remain on all pages while section two would be where the content is to go. I toyed with the idea of making it in flash, but some of the content would require that middle section to be able to scroll without affecting the overall layout of the page. Basically they showed me the website for Catching Fire the movie (the address to which i can't actually post up here yet) and said they'd like something similar just without the giant flaming bird (which is nice because that would be way beyond me lol) But the main idea is where the menu is at the base of the page, and then they'd want the content where the bird is, but with an added header to the page. Basically what would you guys recommend as the best way to approach this? In the past i'd have probably used frames to create the site, but as i said, my confidence in my abilities has been shaken a little lol and i wondered if there was a better way to approach it? I'd really appreciate any help and apologies if this is a really dumb question lol Thanks in advance

Hi My name is Archer and i'm new on here I used to build websites for fun a few years ago but haven't done one in a while. However a friend has asked me to build one for them and, though i need so help with this (look out for my begging for help posts later lol) it's reminded me of how much i enjoyed website building and i want to get back in to it lol Don't really know what else to say, i'm always rubbish at writing these intros Although i am a natural blonde so take some pity on me when i come out with silly requests lol
