    it's really a size too big to design, perhaps you will need a powerful computer to do this. I advise you to give this easier, you just reduced 1 size down to half, then you can use the software Photo Zoom to magnify the size, it will be much simpler.

    Although I do agree with you that those forums have had great success despite their basic and somewhat ugly themes, that is still one of the main reasons why I've never bothered signing up at Overclockers and also StackOverflow. The poor designs and layouts have always deterred me and it should also be noted that their development forums and therefore don't have as much emphasis on "design" in general where as this website even has it in the domain name and logo/brand.
     
    It's true that function > design which is reinforced by the aforementioned websites but if the demographic your targeting are web designers/developers then they are most likely going to be creative types and will appreciate a good, original design.
