  1. I do have Dreamweaver software in the office. I haven't learnt how to use it yet but would you say that is better? Also is it reasonably easy to transfer a website from one to the other? Thank you.
  2. Hi all, thank you for your replies. Alluziion, thank you very much - I had hoped to be able to create a menu that would automatically replicate across all pages but I wouldn't mind copying and pasting for now - anything to improve the look of the site. I wouldn't say I'm confident with html - I am happy editing existing code to make small changes but I wouldn't no where to start to create a new string of code for a menu! Renaissance-Design You are correct - we will probably end up having to get a proffessional to do a re-design. The quotes we've had so far have been between £6 & £10K and that is just too much. Despite the money in Thoroughbred racing we are a non-profit making company & an amateur sport so have a limited budget! Our website needs to be a shop window for future participants and sponsors, at the moment it doesn't serve that purpose. It is used as an information source and a means of making entries into races etc. rallport what flashing text? Maybe my browser isn't modern enough but I can't see any?! Thanks again for all your help. Amanda.

  4. Hello all. I am very new to web design. I have muddled along maintaining our very out of date work site for a couple of years now and I want to give it a shake up. The site is www.aroracing.co.uk as you can see it is currently a bit of a mess - I don't have any consistency in the menus and the hyperlinks are all over the place. Unfortunately I don't have the time (and can't afford to pay anyone a fortune) to completely redesign the site so I would like some ideas on how I can improve what I have. For example, using Microsoft Front Page is it possible to create a menu hierachy system that will replicate automatically on every page? If I change a menu item now I have to manually change the link on every page - hence why they are all over the place! I think this would be a good starting point to help improve the look but any other suggestions would be gratefully received. I am reasonably happy with html code but clueless with CSS etc - so please treat me as a complete begginner! Thank you very much in anticipation. Amanda.
