Hi
I'm asking this because I have always been a self taught freelance web designer and have only ever got my own clients, I have never worked with or for a big web company, so I'm probably not too sure about what responsibilities I should be undertaking when I design a site.
I'm not in the same league as many of you on here I'm sure as have only done about 20 sites so far. Most times I have no problems at all, but recently a couple of clients seem to think that after I have designed and uploaded their site, I have become their own personal unpaid IT guy, and I don't know how to approach it.
The clients in question host their own sites to cut costs, but keep pestering me with email problems, How do I set up machines and accounts? How do I do this? How do I do that etc? Is it fair of me to say that it is their responsibility and they should speak to their webhosts not phone me at 9pm at night??
I have also provided both clients with screenflow videos that explain how to maintain the sites, but instead of actually learning something they seem to think it's easier to just call me and get me to guide them through creating new pages etc.
I would be interested to know how you deal with this kind of thing? And what advice would you give me?
Cheers
