    Don't install wordpress into your main domain folder. Install it into your physical folder for the subdomain(blog.mysite.com). Then your main website will not show at your subdomain link.

  3. There's no public_html folder!

    There are many diffrent docoument folder for diffrent hosting provider also and it differs for the platform like Linux and Windows. I'm agree with "HM". You can fine 'WWW' folder as document folder for Windows and Linux also.
