Thanks for all the feedback, both positive and constructive. I know I have to work a lot on making the site mobile friendly and was wondering if you could help me achieve this. I'm going to work on the homepage and make it more clear as to what the site is about. I personally feel that the numbered buttons on the left of the portfolio are a nice navigation system. I feel users can explore each field easily when they're looking at any of the pages. I didn't realise the logo on the about page was above the content, it's not supposed to be and it isn't on my mac using Safari. I'm looking into the z-index issues for that. Thanks again.

Hi. I've been working some more on my site and just wondered what people think. I haven't uploaded stuff to the about page yet, as I've just changed hosting services, but you can view my shop and work pages, along with a lot of the work. However, there's still a lot of empty pages in my portfolio so bear with me. Cheers! http://www.timothy-clark.com

It's far from anti-Art. I love Art and intend to inspire others to get into it too. I'm trying to make the site as presentable and as clear as possible, like all good modern sites, but the concept involves me looking at how celebrities and fashion houses display their sites and to then imitate that style but in a parodical way, so as to ridicule them and create an anti-brand that encourages people to look past the veneer of our postmodern, media and consumer society.

None of you get it yet, so let me explain the concept behind the site. The idea of the site is to create a parody of, and an antidote to, all the 'hyperreal', unattainable representations of beauty and success that we are bombarded by in our postmodern, media and consumer society. If you look at celebrity websites, especially famous sports-stars, they portray the individual as super-human, even god-like, and have nicknames assigned to them that separate them, and people's perception of them, from what they actually are - regular human-beings. The media's portrayal of them is far detached from any realistic representation of them. Furthermore, the clothing lines they bring out create items of glorification that the general public consume in order to project a 'sign value' of wealth, class and sophistication. I intend, in the near future, to create products that parody this. For example, my Timothy Clark Poopy Pants, which I think I've mentioned before, which have my name printed across the top like, for example, Calvin Klein underwear, but that also have a skid-mark design on them. Hopefully now you see that the site, if I get it right, isn't arrogant but rather a parody of these celebrity figures. I'm going to incorporate the title "Timothy Clark - The Perfect Polymath - The Official Website", and then create very real, mundane images / videos etc. of myself in order to show the reality behind the artificiality of mainstream media imagery. What's the most economical way of coding this please? Anyone?
-
button text
I've now used the same method as my image buttons, but I want the text ("work", "the artist" etc.) to be visible initially and then to fade from black to white as the background changes colour.

button text
On my slide-out navigation on the work page, I'm trying to get each link to have a specific colour background fade in and out on rollover, just like the main image buttons. I can't even get this to do anything: .menufolio a.li:hover { background: #ef0403; } It just stays the same colour when you hover over. Can anyone help pls?
