  1. Bump. Problem still exists.
  2. Any update on this Mike or Ben?
  3. I host my website on CityCM and use the VPS setup. Very impressed. Due to the hours I often work late at night, and when I've need support at 2:30AM they've replied. http://www.citycm.co.uk/ - The guy that owns it is a member on here also. The servers are super fast and are in the UK, Manchester to be more specific.

    This is a custom slug function I've wrote for a clients website: function makeSlug($title) { $title = strtolower($title); $title = preg_replace("/[^a-z\s]/", "", $title); function removeCommonWords($input){ // INSERT MORE WORKS YOU WONT WANT IN YOUR SLUG HERE $commonWords = array('a','and','at','for','off','in','the','up','to','off','deal','cheap','half','price','buy','get','london'); return preg_replace('/\b('.implode('|',$commonWords).')\b/','',$input); } $title = removeCommonWords($title); function removeDouble($title) { $str = $title; $word_array = preg_split('/[\s?:;,.]+/', $str, -1, PREG_SPLIT_NO_EMPTY); $unique_word_array = array_unique($word_array); $unique_str = implode(' ',$unique_word_array); return $unique_str; } $title = removeDouble($title); $title = preg_replace('/\s+/', '-', $title); return $title; } makeSlug($textTOslug); Hope this helps. 5. To fix your Chrome problem, ive adjusted the jQuery to insert a '<br/> tag as the title is filled in by Wordpress and so this seems easier as the title characters are varied and could cause issues in the future. finalHtml += '</span><br/><span>'; http://totalbigbrother.com/2012/drive/spec-n2.php
  6. THANKYOU very much!! I have adjusted the css and gradient to make it a more smoother gradient, as for me (Firefox 10, Windows 7) it was a bit out of sync. Does the gradient look ok for you? http://totalbigbrother.com/2012/drive/spec-n2.php PM me your paypal, and I will send you some cash for a much deserved pint or two
  7. When this happens to me I just type, without the quoted, 'ipconfig /flushdns' into the start menu (or in CMD if not on Windows 7/vista).
  8. Hello Guys and Girls. I was hoping that one of you bright sparks might be able to help me with a project I'm working on. This is a mock up of the end results I would like: As you can see, I would like the 'title' of the article to have a gradient background. I'm not sure how to do this so that the background appears around the text, and not a rectangle block etc. Some titles may only span one line, while some titles may take three lines etc. I've tried for ages to come to a solution that is cross-browser compatible, but no luck. Is this possible? And if so, any working CSS/HTML would be great! If you manage to do it, with a working example, I'll PayPal you some fundage for a drink on me --EDIT-- For ease, if it helps, I've got a start page here that you might find it handy to port from? http://totalbigbrother.com/2012/drive/spec-n1.php
  9. Really nice! Kudos for removing the Flash header. My only suggestion would be to make the Menu/Nav a slight diffrent color to make it standout as the header. It just seems to blend into one with the header, which in my opinion makes it harder for the end user.
  10. I also echo the sentiment from Pasha4ur about it looking like a webasite built a few years. When I think about a ink website, the basic theme of color and splashes of ink would have been nice etc. Also if the .popularprinters did not have the dashed border, it makes it look so much better. On a legal note, im not sure your allowed to have 'Epson' in the website address, but im no legal eagle. Good luck with the site!
  11. Is there a ETA on this? The error still exists.
  12. I hate domain name squarters with a passion. It should be illigal if you ask me!
  13. Storing via cookies would be a bad idea in my opinion. Cookies are often flushed out, and also are not secure. Any one with access to that computer, such as at a library would be abe to look at all your private scheduale and events. Also how would you go about looking at your personalised calender on another computer if this computer has no cookies in. PHP/Mysql is the way forward personally.
  14. I empyt my cache often due to nature of web design for clients and what not. This has been happeninf for few weeks
  15. Oh right, great stuff ta.
  16. Thanks Mike, can't wait to get back posting.
  17. Hiya Ive sent this to Ben but ive yet to get a reply, and the problem still exists. I also dont know if my messages are being sent due to this error so im making a post with this temp second account: When I login, I cant access the index page of the website. I get this error: "www.webdesignerforum.co.uk Driver Error There appears to be an error with the database. If you are seeing this page, it means there was a problem communicating with our database. Sometimes this error is temporary and will go away when you refresh the page. Sometimes the error will need to be fixed by an administrator before the site will become accessible again. You can try to refresh the page by clicking here " Also when I try and view any forum i get this error: "An Error Occurred Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information. [#10342] We could not determine which forum this topic is in. " When I log out, the problems go away, and I can access the index and forums, but cant reply or see attatchments etc. I can view members pages, the store and other pages but not the ones highlighted. Its been happeening for a few weeks now, if not a month or two. I thought it was just bad timing when i logged in the site went down, but i logged out via clearing cookies today and it was fine. So this account, alecish2 is just so i can let the admin team know about the error. Seems a few boards powered by this software, IP.Board, has this error: https://www.google.com/search?q=If+you+are+seeing+this+page%2C+it+means+there+was+a+problem+communicating+with+our+database.+Sometimes+this+error+is+temporary+and+will+go+away+when+you&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a Best, Alec (alecish) This is the error page when i login with my normal account, alecish:
