It looks cheap. You have to think of the experience people who visit your site are going to have. Cheap 90's looking template with a bad logo and the image box effect isn't right either. Keeping in mind your target audience too, this site right now in my opinion is a back buttoner. As to say a lot of people will search for something check out your site and just press back on their browser back to google and try a different link. I don't want to sound harsh mate, I'm just being honest, the logo and template are dull. If your going down the template look I'm positive you can find a much more pleasing template somewhere. On the other hand some of the biggest websites in the world are content over design, but I think you can find a medium. http://www.gamesradar.com/uk/ http://www.gamesforum.com/ http://www.game-veteran.co.uk/ all look adequate. If you were to get a new logo and some high res images and have a big cool background image similar to the game veteran site I think you would get on a lot better. Perhaps I could do a logo for you, no deal no commitment on any side, if you like it you can use it, the end. If you would like ... Just give me a small brief in a comment and I'll follow the thread so I get a notification to my e-mail when someone comments. What I would say is just look around at your competition, what are they doing with their website/services that users are engaging with, what are they asking the mod's for etc. can you offer the same with more/better.. Do give-aways for users. Steam credit/games on release date sent to their home etc. If things are going downhill you need to address the issues that stop users coming back once they have found you, and how they find you in the first place, and how to keep them there. I mean cmon they're teenagers, throw a free map pack out a month and some tits and they will register and keep coming back. Hell throw me the chance to win a map pack and some tits and I'll sign up myself. You know what I mean though right..incentive, user experience, that brand new smell.

Hiya mate. I have a Wacom pen and touch that i bought from their Euro site. There's a refurbished section and I was completely happy with mine, its great. Basically an ex display model that was barely touched, and I only paid about £65 complete bargain. Your best option in my opinion.

Now it just looks like F4TP. I would say your on the right track though. with the integration approach.

Hi, I'm still learning Web Design but no one has came along and replied so I'll try and help best I can. I have my website on Go Daddy, I think that's swearing around some parts, but I've never had any problems. Most hosting companies will have an FTP uploader thats pretty simple to use after you get over the initial /wtf is this/. If you have concerns over who to choose for hosting i suggest googling a query for comparisons of 50 web hosting companies or something along those lines. When you have your hosting and have signed in you need to locate the ftp uploader which should be clearly visible as soon as you sign in! You will most probably have a choice of a linux server or a windows server. I would recommend linux. When your uploading your files the server has a hierarchy for which it serves the files. Everything has to be linked to your homepage which should be called index.html, If there isn't an index.html present your server will go down the hierarchy list until it finds what it deems to be the second most important file. These files in order are "index.htm," "index.asp," "default.html," "default.htm," "default.php," "default.asp," "default.aspx," "default.shtml" and "default.shtm." As for tutorials well here's mine. aquire hosting, sign in, find ftp uploader, if there is an index.html in your directory delete it, upload your own along with all your other files and images etc. You can either leave your images in the same directory as your html files or make a new folder in your directory for images, keeping in mind the images will have to linked in the html files to the image folder if you create a new image folder. Like I say, I'm just learning. Bu thats pretty much what I did when i first got my domain and hosting sorted out. Hopefully somebody else will read your post and give a better hand. I might as well add; You can download Filezilla for free to use as an ftp uploader once you have your server log in details. Also If you were to have Dreamweaver obviously It's pretty simple to uplaod to your website from inside Dreamweaver. An as for step by step tutorials, there's a wealth of tutorials on Filezilla and Dreamweaver. Cheers.

Hello hello. My name's Fraser and I'm learning Web Design.whoohoo. I thought I would say hello to the active members who come in and read over this section of the forums. As of yet I haven't built a website yet. And I just finished my first logo design for an unpaid job for a guy for his new website, because i like the content he puts out I offered to do it for free. So day to day I'm probably doing what a lot of people were doing when they first started out, which is tutorial after tutorial after tutorial. I don't have any solid plans for my future, but I do have my goals marked out. I like the idea of working freelance, but I also think I need to be aiming for a Junior position after I have some paid projects under my belt. Ideally speaking in X years I would love to be in a small Design house with 4,5,6 excellent designers. All of this isn't my concern right now, all in good time. So right now I'm still getting to grips with HTML and CSS. And I'm a complete beginner with code. On the other hand I'm quite comfortable and really enjoy sitting in Photoshop, for which I'm also doing tutorials online. I'm really looking forward to everything coming together where I can visualise design elements and automatically start visualising how I am going to to have to code my designs for them to work as a site. So..I have a limited knowledge of HTML, I just started with my CSS so even less there, I'm looking at Javascript next, as of now I really like the 960 grid system, and that's what I will be concentrating on for a bit.
